America's problem is that christianity was about "me and God" individualism which led to "i can have church anywhere" which led to traditional denominational churches becoming big tent which meant that pastors wouldnt/couldnt teach people about the most basic doctrines because people would leave in disagreement. Plenty of people in pews think belief in the trinity isnt necessary - numerous discussions ended with "well, we cant know God so we cant say the trinity is real with any certainity" and "its not in the bible". And this was a church that said the apostle creed (albeit john piper's version).


. These are the same christians who do seder and passover to better understand easter. You cant blame anyone else for internal failings.
