Seconding this. I've played plenty of gacha games but Champions is absolute bottom of the barrel, worst of the worst. You could pick almost any random game in the Google store and you would find something more generous and likely with much better content.

It actually makes me laugh every time I think about it. Every other game he has talked about at least has something going for it even Supercard but he somehow got hooked on the biggest pile of shit out there.
It's like poetry, it rhymes.

Jeeeeeee-sus. Just to lay it all out there: he apparently makes about $39K a year.
And at one time, he consistently had over half of a year's take-home pay tied up in one online casino:
https://www.askgamblers.com/casino-complaints/delayed-payments-no-communications
$16488 of unpaid payouts in the first complaint, but scroll down and you see that he had more complaints of a similar nature for similar amounts. At any given time, he's gambled enough to win back $16K. This is insanity, pure and simple.

Imagine what it'll be like when Phil's addiction hits critical mass the same way.

Well technically it already has with the bankruptcy and all and he's making absolutely no attempt to try and contain it in his pants until he can finally qualify for another one and that's when the real show can begin, but this twitch arc is making some great salt to coat that pig meat. In the meantime he's a triple G addict: Gout, gacha, and gin.

Champions probably is going to take over one million dollars to 100% it at this point because it's systems are obviously malicious and meant to pay out as little as possible.
Scopely is disgusting. I'd say nobody deserves to be treated like this, but the Pigroach does. Even illegal gambling sites will offer lockout options so a problem gambler can lock himself out for a period of time or even for good. It's utterly fucking ludicrous skill games like poker, a quintessentially American game, are banned to play online but apparently this much worse shit is totally fine.

I literally can't imagine any human being that can live independently spending $40k + on a shitty mobile puzzle game and thinking "I don't have a problem, this is fine"

You could say that about any addict though, they all think they could quit if they want. Someone linked the Louis Theroux documentary a few pages back, which shows people at the Vegas slots just endlessly shovelling money in. Anything they win just gets gambled straight away, and they had no understanding of the money they were spending, even when confronted with the figures.

Actual gambling addicts can justify it because they can get some money back.

DSP dosent get anything but bankruptcy and sweaty men

I couldn't help but chuckle at the redacted last name followed by the casino just powerwording him anyway.

I've noticed that the profiles on the Scopely page for each player can have automatically generated avatars (random cartoon wrestler), and custom ones (people's photos). Why does this happen and how can one change it?

So it occurred to me that the automatic ones could be set by the system in case you open an account without linking it to anything, while the custom ones take your FaceBook profile image when you link your account. It's known that for Champions, in order to secure your progress from potentially losing it, you need to link it to FB.

We can see this from BWelch over there, he has the same image on FB and his Scopely profile (@WolverineGuy22 by the way, he's still on the faction last time I checked). And I don't know how one could change their own avatar on the website, so maybe this is the reason.

Now Rafters, his profile image was changed around 5 Mar 2021 from the cartoon wrestler to the default FaceBook image:

So I went and checked if DSP has any FB account, this is what it should give if it doesn't exist:

In DSP's case, he has at least 2 accounts from what I can tell:

It's odd that he'd have 2 accounts on there, so the theory is that DSP linked one of them to Champions to secure it, possibly creating one recently for that purpose. Reminder that all of this is speculation.

He's got 3 with his mug on them. No way he could use one of them.

Most gacha games by design, even the most generous ones, take thousands and thousands of dollars to 100% at any given time, even release.

The longer a game goes on the more money it takes, to the point where even the most generous ones probably cost more than a house.

Champions is not a generous one. Champions is one of the worst ones I've ever seen in my entire life. You can spend thousands of dollars and get absolutely nothing except by attrition. Champions probably is going to take over one million dollars to 100% it at this point because it's systems are obviously malicious and meant to pay out as little as possible.
There is a form of gatcha for all five major sports: MLB the Show has Diamond Dynasty, NBA 2K21 has MyTeam, NFL, NHL, and FIFA all have EA Ultimate Team.

At least with all five of those, and I've watched far too many Twitch streams on this during COVID (and participated in FIFA myself for a brief time), if you miss your big pulls, you can still quicksell or auction sell the cards you do get for coins/stubs to buy the players you want.

There's none of that in this game from what I can see. If you spend $500 on pulls and miss, that money is just gone. You can't even resell your missed pulls to buy new wrestlers from what I can tell.

On behalf of DSP, I'd like to thank thedeviluk, without his unwavering support our boy wouldn't have seen his best showing in months. I think this is the victory that will finally turn it all around for Dark.
