At the risk of posting too much about this, I just can't get it out of my head. So like, on average dude was prior to the departnering pulling in ~$5k from his Twitch paycheck that he claims was enough to cover his major middle of the month expenses like his mortgage and taxes. YouTube and Patreon take care of incidental bills throughout the month, which give or take is another $900 (I'm just going off of memory here if my math is way off base I'll take the dumbs). When it comes to how he purposes his tips money the narrative changes based on what day you're asking him, it's either going to taxes or surprise bills or incidental bills or his living expenses what have you. This is, as far as I understand, what DSP claims how his money gets divided each month. The amount he pulls in just from tips is what, another 5-6k monthly average since the $100 a stream tips goal went into effect?
Check that narrative vs. what we know of the bankruptcy filing, and his stated monthly bills for his household is average $5k to take care of all of his expenses and incidentals for the month, then we give DSP the benefit of the doubt that his business class internet costs $400 monthly and add in another $150 or so for new games for the month. Put in about $1k for keeping current with his federal and state taxes, and we have about $4k a month unaccounted for because DSP is neither saving this money or making any lavish purchases that anyone is aware of. I and many of you are convinced that this free money goes to Scopely every month, because there is no other working explanation of where else this money can go.
I can't help but genuinely believe that when he says he is broke, that he's spent all his money because nothing about DSP says that he's learned better how to manage his funds. I could be wildly off base on that assumption but given how the bankruptcy showed us that DSP was not making any good moves with his income to square his debts in my heart of hearts I just don't see that trend changing because DSP has never changed. This is important because to earnestly believe DSP, you have to believe that his bills are double what he's had to declare in writing to a government agency that it would have benefitted him greatly if he could show a larger expenditure monthly for personal bills.
April 21st rolls around and DSP loses his partnership and makes no effort to reclaim it. The tips goal escalates from $100 a stream to $200 a stream, purportedly to stave off lost revenue. Patreon subs climb a bit, like about 100 give or take right? I'm bad at remembering. From the 22nd till now he's made a fair go at his new tips goal with my retarded math estimates of about $150 average per stream.
First, my brain can't wrap around how he would be out his Twitch paycheck when he's actively tried to recoup those losses from his departnering till now. The easy answer is the insatiable black hole that is DSP's wallet demands that even if the math is good that more money isn't bad, this is the only reason I can see for how he's so calm today about not hitting his arbitrary $3k goal because even if Twitch paid him, he wouldn't have critically needed the money to begin with.
That doesn't jive well with his narrative that he needs the money which leaves me wondering if somehow he's actually trying to scam people with pitying him to rake in a little extra cash but he usually saves his debasement for when he's desperate, the only thing I can think is that he dumped too much money into Scopely but that's not satisfying because he didn't get his money and he's not in panic mode about it. Maybe he's going to ask Kat for a loan to cover the mortgage? I don't know I'm lost and none of what has happened or is happening is satisfying and I feel like I'm missing a part of the story here.
