To go back to Joe Biden for a minute, I cannot feel bad at all for what he's going through. When he was lucid on the campaign trail he sincerely looked like he was enjoying things, and that also applies for when he's been at his best while President. Does the Union scam at walmart still work? Say you were making 25-30 an hour working in an administrative office role, you have a degree etc, but due to wuflu you suddenly find yourself laid off because your company isn't profitable in pandemic america. In your apparent vision of america that means you'd have to go to McDonald's/walmart/etc most likely, as the nonessential jobs that were kept around weren't likely to be vacant anyway. I'm curious where all these fast food jobs are that allow you to pull more than a couple hours of overtime. For the period that I worked in food service, fast food joints would force you out the door if you were about to get overtime. Your boss would call you and tell you that shifts had to be cut short and if you challenged it, they'd threaten to fire you. The whole point of hiring people for entry level positions is to keep labor costs down. If you make $10/hour salting fries, why would I pay you $15 for half of your paid time when I could cut your hours in half and hire a kid or immigrant to take your hours for $10/hour? That's a weeks worth of labor when the owner saves $5/hour.
