Seems strange they didn't have any backup or recon craft. The US can wage a literal air war in several countries it doesn't have a presence in. But it can't cover its own people? Seems like good policy to have a drone or two in the air just for early warning alone.

That reminded that my dad was doing some electric work at our summer house the other day and got electrocuted with the his hand grasping the connection.
He survived, but said it the shittiest thing ever- you dont feel much pain, just your heart going faster and faster, you cant control your body and just feel you are dying and there is nothing you can.

Holmes' family decided to release the footage in hopes of "raising awareness" in both riders and drivers, but the guy clearly had some sort of death wish--motorcycles are practically invisible to car drivers even when they're trying to look out for them and he was bound to have an accident sooner or later riding like that. It's just fortunate he didn't kill anyone but himself.

Can confirm on my end. One day on driving with friends, we saw a group of motorcycles on a highway. One guy n the very front has a long scarf. Probably to get get people's attention but that was the stupidest decision similar to Isadora Duncan (long scarf got tangled by a wheel on her moving car, you can guess what happened next). Scarf guy and his motorcycle gang moved in front. Some distance ahead, scarf guy lost control because there was another car moving towards him from the sides to pass a lane but didn't see him. Scarf guy fell and became a red crayon on the road, then was moved to the side grass of the highway.
Bunch of people moved to the grass to help before the ambulance came because surprisingly, he was still alive. I stayed in the passenger seat because holy shit, I will never forget the heavy smell of blood of that scene even when I stayed in the car and I didn't want to see whatever became of him. I had the morbid curiosity to ask my friends when they came back after the ambulance came, they said "everything on the road really dug deep on his face and body". I'm surprised that the scarf didn't do him in first.
