I can't believe I have to agree with Rags/Mauler, but RE8 was an utter disappointment. When the stor wasn't stupid it was just borderline silly, and not in the good way that a lot of RE games can be. It never felt scary, maybe it could have been but glitches and predictability completely takes you out of any kind of mood.
I wonder if most of those positive reviews aren't because of the weird hype for those vampires and especially their mother - and without spoiling they just aren't as big a part of the game as all the trailers and teasers hinted at.

Regarding the Fandom Menace drama, I honestly don't pay much attention to that part of the internet any longer. Midnight's Edge used to be interesting to follow back during the days of the Sony leaks and Ghostbuster drama, but they made the mistake of getting a taste for the e-celeb life. Andre sounds like he has 2 digit IQ with an autistic need to...talk...really.....slow.....and....rrrrrrroll...his r's because who the hell knows.
I'm scandinavian and we sure as hell don't have to do that when speaking English.
Tom seems to be the type that always has to say his point as soon as he thinks of it, even if he has to shout over others mid-sentence, and Rob makes lame jokes and use the same 3 sports metaphors over and over. Honestly they are so much better when they make acutal produced material rather than all these livestreams.

As for Mecha, I don't know much about her. I have to tune her out as she is a 40 year something who always sound as if she is on the brink of bursting into tears.

Welp that got more ranty than I intended, I blame having to agree with Rags on something.

ME pre-recorded content is mostly still good, they get interesting persons to interview even. Not everyone is made for streaming, but the pull of superchats is too strong.

As for the FM drama, the guys in the #Comicsgate thread are keeping up with it. Looks like they're ostracizing the danger hairs. I doubt ME, G+G or Nerdrotic will air this stuff publicly. I wonder what will Jeff will do come Tuesday's High Council.

Now, I haven’t played RE8 so I have no idea whether it’s good or not (never played a RE game), but I agree with the person MauLer quoted. I’ve gotten that same impression from watching his and his cohorts’ content, and it makes me wonder whether he might have autism.
I think this was something that was brought up when it came to their coverage of Hill House and Bly Manor. They liked Bly Manor more than Hill House cause they said the former did more to explain the ghosts and spirits and the latter left it kind of ambiguous as to how they worked. They do seem to have issues with ambiguity in stories, which can be an issue when covering certain stories as sometimes a bit of mystery and ambiguity adds a bit of charm to certain stories, Twin Peaks for example. The Red Room would lose a lot of it's charm if they went into detail explaining what it was and how it worked and why certain people went there when they did.

Oh, so it's another "muh logic" non-issue then.

I feel like the robert pattison thing really shows how they really dont care or understand anything about movies...
People did the same thing with Heath Ledger , Michael Keaton and even Ben Affleck..... do they not know the history behind the batman casting controversies or what ?
The problem with Pattinson is that he seems not to have buffed up for the role like Affleck or Chris Hemsworth.
They believe he is not taking the role seriously. Now he could be in fantastic shape just in a more lean form but Midnight Edge and the rest of Fandom Menace want their Batman built like a tank. Apparently Matt Reeves and Pattinson are at odds over this. So the Midnight Edge crew see him as a spoilt brat who is ruining a potentially awesome film.

Macabre Storytelling did a great video on this after the whole Kumali Nanjani photo.

Here is the thing I find funny about Last Jedi. The arguments over Holdo and Poe who was right and who was wrong. It actually gets military people involved. Fandom Menace bringing military expertise giving their opinion on this matter. Holdo is a bad commander because this would not happen in US military. I'm just thinking to myself, this is a film with magic, spaceships and robots plus aliens. It's not Battlestar Galactica. Plus the whole commander seems like idiot but redeems themselves at end is a trope as old as time. BSG used it to allow Apollo be commander of Pegusus.

I really don't get this at all, how is the Merchant from RE4's ambiguity a strength? He has zero story/history, there's no damn ambiguity there, he's one of the villagers who got infected (the Ganado) who isn't hostile and sells you stuff, that's it. Leon doesn't even acknowledge or talk to him besides the player interacting with him to buy stuff. Of course, this is fine really since he serves his purpose of selling you stuff and doesn't need to be more than that, but is Mauler really mad that they made the merchant character in RE8 important in the story? He doesn't even bring up how the Merchant in RE4 is able to just appear in every location of the game without explanation. This is such an awful nitpick to have.

So I know this is not on topic with the whole RE8 discussion that's going on right now on this thread but I just wanted to give my two cents about Mauler, his friends, and EFAP as a whole. Without doing any research into these people they just seem like a bunch of armchair film critics who really hate when other people get shit wrong about movies and stuff. I really enjoy that it at least feels like they try to come at whatever topic they approach from the perspective of, "What about this piece of media is actually good/ bad outside of my feelings for it." Idk maybe its my autistic tendencies but I really enjoy just watching them react to other really bad Youtubers who have complete dogshit takes on stuff. I honestly think Mauler doesn't make content the same way some other Youtubers go about it (just for money/ popularity) and he actually has a real drive to improve the discussion around media. Once again maybe I'm just a faggy fanboy of his but I don't think that he is a bad creator at all and to be honest I think he is better than the majority of Youtube reviewers who just say good/bad and call it a day.

Frankly I think that’s a good thing. There’s a ton of pressure on guys to be overly buff tanks in capeshit media.
While this can be considered part of the point in escapism capeshit like Superman or Batman, I do think there’s a problem in having actors work their asses off to attain and maintain it.
I like that Pattinson, while he’s buffed up a bit for the role, didn’t burn every bit of fat in his body to do it.

They come off like they're worried The Batman is going to get turned into some kind of arthouse fagfest movie because of Pattinson.

Directed by the guy who made Cloverfield and 2 great Apes movies. The trailer gives off the sense of the film Seven to me.
When it comes to Batman my impression was that (at least from the comic book guys like Nerdrotic or Comix Division) they want to get away from the "realistic" armored style Batman to the full comic aesthetic.

For example, recently they were creaming themselves over this fan film

Speaking of DC, is there any word about the next DCEU mini? It's been about a month since the Suicide Squad one, and with the current rate of at least one a month I feel like Mauler would be making noise about the next one by now, you think they got sidetracked by RE8 and Falcon/Winter soldier, or do you think even they realized they don't want to sit through the whole DCEU catalogue?

I think they have either lost interest or they filmed them weeks ago and whoever is editing them (Meme Repository or MauLer) is being lazy. I don't think they have brought them up on stream recently.

RE: Robert Pattinson as Batman:

I don’t think that there’s any solid evidence outside of tabloid speculation that he hasn’t been getting in shape for or taking the role seriously. Didn’t he do a lot of his own stunts for Tenet? Plus, Michael Keaton wasn’t exactly uber-shredded when he played the character, so it’s not like there isn’t precedent for a Batman that isn’t built like a tank.

Also, this:

Jeff kicked Tom and Mecha off the show, declared himself Switzerland and the new hosts are Comix Division and Merry Mayhem (one of the girls that was crying about Tom, mmmh).
Jeff usually invites a lot of people but rarely if ever goes outside his channel (he has been on EFAP a number of times).

Implying Mauler has actually watched most of these (I do remember some people in this thread saying he did talk about The Lighthouse and that he thought it was boring).
