If only i was wealthy. Could buy scopely and ban phil LOL. Someone in his clique would mention it was a detractor who bought them and got him banned. Hed prolly be so pissed but cant say anything on stream. Just malding on the inside all day long. Everyone wondering whats up phils ass

Why would you ban him, he's one of your biggest sources of income. I'd assign a dedicated partner manager to him to ensure he spends as much as possible.

https://twitter.com/tjgamebox/status/1396068219253895169?s=21 he spent 660 minimum so far . His score - mine / 15000 points per loot coin / 25 loot coins = about 6.6 loot packages purchased * 100 dollars per loot package = about 660 dollars minimum as there are smaller loot packages in store right now

How sustainable is this game when it seems like only around 300 people spend money every event?

You're right that there aren't many spenders let alone whales in this game but each of them is spending hundreds or thousands every single week. Phil literally went bankrupt from this game and he isn't even their biggest whale. You're right that relying on such a small percent of the player base is risky but it's profitable for now and if things do go south it'd be very simple for Scopely to turn off the servers and be done with it.

The game is also dirt cheap to maintain - this is a Bejeweled clone with PS2-era graphics and new content that amounts to reskins and raising the maximum level of wrestlers. Judging from the >90% win rate we're seeing on all of the guilds and players they obviously don't care about balance or challenge either. The only real expenses are going to be the WWE licensing fee and executives salaries, the cost of actually making content is going to be near zero and probably outsourced to India or Vietnam or wherever.

EDIT:

I heard there is another gatcha wwe game coming out soon so this one is probably on the way out

Is it being made by Scopely though? I'm genuinely asking, if it's them then yeah Champions is dying and this is them throwing in the towel. If it isn't then WWE probably isn't making as much as they want out of Champions but Phil might be wasting money on two gacha games at once - Scopely will not kill Champions so long as it is profitable and Phil will not quit playing until the servers shut down, and we have already established that this is not his first or only WWE gacha problem.

Fuck me! This game is more predatory than a preist at an all boys Catholic school. It must be pure gambling addiction for these pieces of unwashed smegma. The ones spend that big bucks on it get absolutely nothing back, just an incredibly small burst of serotonin.

Fucking pathetic, but what can you expect from our boy.

From the amount of times Scopely has sent me a message apologizing for a glitch or server issue, the best gift that was given was a 100 health packs.

However these would be almost irrelevant to someone with a high level roster, since they only heal around 10000 HP, and characters at 5 stars can have the health up to the million or so.

In my experience, it is ridden with glitches that can mess you up, it's not a game you want to spend money on. Not once when speaking with Champions' players they had something good to say about Scopely, it was always mentioned along with an insult, they're known snakes even amongst their customers.

Jesus I'm glad I give my cash ti Majsoul and my CCs to FGO.

There you got your answer for both sides of the coin.
Not for Scopely's business model, at least for this game. It's not just these events, people spend money on coins, in game cash, loot, tokens and more, and once they start they cannot stop. For wrestling specially, it seems to attract the perfect demographic.

This guy I was talking to, that wants to get rid of the account, has been completely taken over by the sunk cost. Has built his empire of smoke and he's trapped inside.
He's not going anywhere unless Scopely shuts down Champions or someone buys his account, and once that happens that'll be the new whale. For the time being he's still irrationally funnelling money into it, even if at this point it's not really going to raise much its value.

From what I've seen it's incredibly exploitable with fairly loyal customers, at least when they cross the line of no return. They hit a goldmine by putting wrestlers on a gem breaking minigame.

Buying accounts is risky now as most accounts have to tie to Facebook now, and cause of that, scopely can lock an account if they sense it’s been bought
