I don't even know anymore. I woke up feeling really conflicted about it. I know that the disease itself presents no risk to me, but I also know that the chances of having a severe reaction to the vaccine are pretty low. I'm really fucking tired of wearing the muzzle, especially at work. Some days are better than others, but there are a lot of days where I get a tightness in my chest, and I feel claustrophobic and start to panic, so the sooner they'll let me take it off, the better. But, I'm very much against forced vaccinations, and I see this as an unnecessary procedure, that I really, really do not trust or want. Maybe forcing us to wear masks for a year was intended to break us down enough to the point where we'd get jabbed out of desperation, I don't know. Honestly, I'm terrified about the future, and where this is all heading. The appointment isn't for about a week, so I still have time to cancel. I'm just so tired, and I really don't know what to do

Walked for roughly 10 miles all around my super lefty shithole US city and only 20-30% of people in any given area were wearing masks outside. Also walked around a Target in the hood without a mask and made eye contact with several employees who didn’t say anything about it. Someone who looked like a manager actually told me to have a good day while wearing his mask. In the tiny central city Targets there are employees still politely asking people to pull their masks up, though.

If you’re done with the masks but too afraid to go without one inside a store that still requires them, ask yourself why.

Because the worst that will happen is an employee will ask you to put a mask on. Nobody is going to touch you or demand you leave or make a scene. There’s a 50/50 chance the employees working at any given time are the sort of people who can’t be bothered to enforce a dumb rule for their shitty wage. The other sort are the ones who feel so desperately disempowered in their own lives that a tiny amount of authority given to them is too seductive not to exploit. Remember that so that it’s not as scary to imagine being called out by one of them. How would you react if some autist hall monitor demanded your bathroom pass as an adult? It’s the same shit. To anyone who still wears the mask to spare the low level employees the task of having to enforce the rules: have you ever worked a low level job? Especially now these places are desperate to hang on to any of the workers they can get who haven’t defrauded the government for bennies so the likelihood that anybody is getting disciplinary action for not hassling the unmasked masses is close to zero. Most of the people saying this shit seem to be virtue signaling Twitter heroes and the rest are just trying to find any reason to justify continued behavior that they know to be wrong on an instinctual level.

I sense a tremendous lack of perspective in many of these posts that are essentially asking for instructions on how to not wear a mask in a store. The more people just don’t wear a mask without making it into a big political statement in public the better, because I promise that there are others just waiting to follow your lead. It’s not some heroic gesture, it’s just being human. So many of the remaining masked people are searching for signs of life.

If you’re a faggy baby who needs some bleeding heart justification: remember that integral to a small child’s social development is reading facial cues from the people around them. You are helping to spread autism by wearing a mask.

Some of the stores around me have put up signs saying you don't have to wear a mask if you're vaccinated, so I haven't been. Cork woman (66) jailed for weekend after refusing to wear a mask​

Judge says he is confused by behaviour of ‘pleasant woman’ who is ‘undermining the rules of court and country’​

A 66-year-old Cork woman has been jailed for the weekend for her defiance in refusing to wear a mask in court.

Margaret Buttimer of The Cottage, St Fintan’s Road, Bandon appeared before Clonakilty District Court earlier this week for refusing to wear a mask at Dunnes Stores in the town on February 12th.

She was found guilty of the offence of not wearing a mask in breach of Covid-19 regulations.

Judge Colm Roberts was told that Ms Buttimer abused the store manager when he asked her if there was a medical reason why she was not wearing a face covering.

Ms Buttimer refused to answer the manager’s queries before eventually telling him that she only answered to God.

Management at the store contacted gardaí. Ms Buttimer became agitated and called manager Gary Emerson an “asshole”.

Gardaí arrived at the scene, and she informed them that she was only answerable to God. She refused to provide her details and declined to wear a mask when she was brought to a garda station.

She told the court she did not believe in masks but that she was sorry for calling the manager a name and hoped he would find it in his heart to forgive her.

The case had been adjourned until Friday to give Ms Buttimer an opportunity to reflect on her behaviour.

Judge Colm Roberts said he was confused by her behaviour as she was a “pleasant woman”. However, he said she seemed to have a need for attention.

Ms Buttimer arrived at the sitting of Bandon District Court on Friday without wearing a mask.

Judge Roberts said that the last thing he wanted to do was jail Ms Buttimer for contempt.

“This is not funny. I don’t think you are appreciating the seriousness of this,” he said.

“She has created a situation where I have no other option. She is undermining the rules of the court and the country. Her viewpoint makes no logical sense. Her partner wears a mask and he is concerned about her.



“If she wants to be released [FROM CUSTODY)]she will have to put a mask on. I am concerned about her decision-making.”

The judge said that Ms Buttimer had turned up in the body of the court “without a mask, but worse still a smile on her face as if this is something to laugh about”.

Ms Buttimer was an “enigma” and her family were deeply concerned about her, the judge said. He found her to be in contempt of court and remanded her in custody for the weekend.

She will appear before Bandon District Court again on Monday for sentencing.

The judge said Ms Buttimer was moving from defiance to “openly challenging the courts and the country”.

Defence solicitor Plunkett Taaffe said that he was conscious of the age of his client. Mr Taaffe emphasised that Ms Buttimer’s family were concerned about her.

He spoke briefly to his client at the end of her case. She did not put on a mask and was remanded in custody for the weekend.

She will also appear in court in relation to other similar charges on June 14th.

The judge told her she was entitled to her relationship with God, but not to the detriment of society.

The only place I continue to wear it is my job because I have bills to pay. I have to be a good little boy and just deal with it at work if I want to keep paying rent, and putting food on the table. Also, I'm Canadian, and as much I'd love to just get away from everything and go innawoods, I can't afford that luxury. Americans seem to have a much better attitude when it comes to freedom than us leafs, and frankly, I envy how much value you place in your freedoms, and wish my fellow countrymen would do the same. An effort by Arizona lawmakers to ban state and local governments from mandating COVID-19 “vaccine passports” failed earlier this week.

The measure, House Bill 2190, was introduced in mid-April and sought to prohibit business entities from requiring a person to provide proof of vaccination.

“A business entity doing business in this state [Arizona] may not require a person to disclose to the business entity or a third-party online application whether the person has or has not received a covid-19 vaccine or a vaccine to address any variant of covid-19 as a condition for receiving any service, product or admission to an event or venue,” according to its text (pdf).

The legislation would have also prevented public universities in Arizona, as well as county, local, and state governments from requiring people to provide proof of vaccination. Healthcare professionals would have been allowed to require proof of vaccination, but they would be prohibited from rejecting services based on someone’s vaccination status.

“A health care institution may not deny a patient or a resident health care services based on the person’s vaccination status,” the bill reads.

Anyone in violation of the new law would have faced a Class 3 misdemeanor, which is punishable by an up to $500 fine and no more than 30 days in prison.

The legislation failed on a 16-13 vote. According to Arizona’s Capitol Media Services, GOP State Sen. T.J. Shope voted with Democrats in killing the bill.

Vaccine passports have been criticized by civil liberties groups, who say they would potentially violate Americans’ privacy rights while denying key services to people who aren’t vaccinated.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon, all Republicans, are among governors who have recently signed an executive order to place a ban on such documents in their state.
