Multiethnic societies always trend towards homogeneity over time. This either happens through assimilation into the dominant culture or through civil conflict and war, with the dominant ethnicity imposing itself through mass killing or outright genocide. The instances of peaceful co-existence are incredibly rare and are only possible with geographic separation and an agreed power-sharing polity (Switzerland, Britain, Belgium).

This is why I believe that the United States is utterly fucked. It might be possible to assimilate Hispanics into white culture (or vice versa), it's kinda worked in Latin America so I guess it could work here. But that could only happen if there was a halt to Amrinidian Central American settlement, people who can barely speak Spanish and are not even vaguely European culturally or ethnically.
