just a hunch that the news segment is related to detransition and trans children with that last part. will check it out.
reality, nuance, and boundaries are the enemy of the trans person so any time i see this, i know it's going to be good.

edit: mentally replace "affirmation", "support", "validation" in anything about trans people ever with "narcissistic supply".
children need parental "support" so they don't develop ptsd from neglect. people in comas need to be put on life "support".
trannies just want flattery or spending cash. no adult has to be fluffed up to stay something inborn, or not commit die.

Seems pretty interesting and that they seem to be trying to point out that it's far to easy to be okay'd for hormones and even surgery by health care providers. It's somewhat worrying how few sessions it took for them to get approval, especially when the therapist didn't even seem to bother getting into what was the route case of their feelings. It makes me curious how low the bare of entry is for therapists that you have them collecting (I'm assuming) hefty checks from people to not actually help their issues and instead half-ass their treatment. Quite upsetting to think about these people gaining access to people at their weakest and they can't even give the effort to actual care about helping their patients but will happily take their money. What disgusting parasites, up there with lawyers it seems. Might have to check out the full 60 minutes to see what else they go over.

Can't wait for the seethe where they try and dismiss the very valid concerns mentioned in the doc rather than take a step back and realize there's some serious problems with their community.

The slow decline has already started. There's been postings in this thread pointing out that generations growing up currently are being less and less positive towards the LGBT+ It's probably why you're starting to see organizations like LGB alliance and others, dropping the T so to speak, because even they can see the writing on the wall and want to have a moral high ground when it goes to shit.

Holy shit! Millions of normal people tuned in to watch that! It seems that the media's monopoly on the public's opinions cuts both ways. Call me optimistic, but this broadcast might be a pretty big deal in the grand scheme of things.

I'm sure they'll say Jesse Singal got to Lesley Stahl or some nonsense. Good for them for interviewing so many detransitioners.

Daisy saying "when everything that I had set out to do was done, I still felt incomplete" is so sad. I think a lot of people who have even had most of the surgeries still probably fantasize about some other thing, like FFS, just so they don't have to acknowledge this is as good as it will ever be. It's human to have a goal for self-improvement, but doing it this way means it's not up to you how your results turn out. And you can't outsource your happiness to how well other people think you pass. It has to come from inside you, your own efforts, your own confidence. I don't want to see people get stuck on this medical track and feel like they don't have control over their lives.

The 60 Minutes piece has been in the works for a while now, and troons had several months’ advanced notice that this story was going to air. Jimmy Finley Boylan with GLAAD and the New York Times has been warning about it since February.

Expect the US media this week to go into hyperdrive defending the thin troon line.
