Most of my Asian friends are also gigantic weebs and would absolutely not be assmad about being viewed as anime or video game characters. Seriously though, these stereotypes are older than the hapa that made this weak ass comic and he probably doesn't realize that saying "Asian Americans" is kind of a bullshit catchall which erases the cultural identities of the individuals he's trying to white knight for.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't discrimination against Asians from White Americans "stopped" around the 90s? Excluding the LA riots with the LAPD response?

I think what the artist is trying to say that Asians are expected to overperform. When they do, they are overqualified as a result. Damn if you do, damn if you don't.

I dunno, I'm not even American (no, not Algerian either), I don't really know how the Asians there have it like. I was just explaining what was the author's point, not whether it was right or wrong.

Two things:

1) If there's one group that hates Asians more than anyone else, it's other Asians. Ask any middle-aged Chinese man his opinion of the Japanese and vice-versa, because I'm convinced every Asian dialect has a unique way of calling other Asians "dogs."

2) The only negative stereotype on the bottom is the megaweeb. Nobody would ever dislike being compared to Ryu or Chun-Li.

Again, raging Asian incel. Guy gets angry that a lot of white people enjoy Asian culture, and that a lot of QT Asian chicks like white guys, alongside a smattering of disdain for the average Asian assimilating instead of acting like a wannabe colonist.

Pan-Asianism at an American scale is at least reasonable, where America mostly sees Asians as mostly the same. Pan-Asianism at a global scale where each individual country is recognized is incredibly insulting and forces Asians to overlook the centuries of inter-Asian conflict (the Chinese human rights abuses, The Indonesian genocides of communists, Fucking Imperial Japan.) to act against Western Imperialism (while not without its atrocities such as the Japanese interment camps and colonialism). It expects forgiveness for the Philippine comfort women and the Nanking genocide where the Japanese Government still deny it to this day. No, Singapore is not going to get angry at the US for nuking Imperial Japan, in fact they would have probably thanked them for stopping the occupation.
