BreadTube - The Unofficial ContraPoints Dickriders Club and the culture / drama surrounding the community.

These twitter communists don't seem to understand how the capitalism game works. Almost like they don't realise Marx laid out all the secrets of "how to win at capitalism" in his books.
marx did a bit of stock trading to demonstrate it i think
but his idea about it was to use the money acquired this way to fund his communist party, not blow it on consumerism like breadtubers are doing lol

I joke that I'm funding my model of "Socialism in one house"

A boat load might be pushing it. But £15k a year isn't anything to sniff at. Working from home, single person with no kids... I could survive on that comfortably.
I think the general rule of thumb is about 300$ for every 100k views (in my experience) though this is for ad-friendly shit, no sexual topics, not too much profanity. Limited videos get next to nothing in terms of money (my first 100k video is a limited ad video, $ 9.80 in ads) Now, this is somewhat mitigated by who is watching your content, namely YouTube Premium is the main source of income for limited ad videos as users of YouTube Premium watching your videos gets you some cash. So likely on ads, he's getting the lower end of that estimate.

I turned over nearly $6k on my dumb Kim Il Sung and Best Korea comic when I had less than 300 YT subs. Extrapolate that to 60k subs and well that's a nice chunk of change.

It's true that comicsgate bullshit is unbelievably lucrative (hell, i almost bought a comic from those people once). If you're an online grifter reading this just slap together some copy and paste bullshit and then string together a half assed indiegogo and you're set for life. Comics fans are used to being ass blasted for every penny they have left seeing as comic prices only go up as the industry dies.

Comicsgate is awesome. Its a lot of fun.

This. +"SJWs"

I thought comicsgate was a right-leaning thing, Breadtube is getting into it?

The people of CG are predominantly right leaning yes but it's not the alt right hate group it's made out to be. It's a mixed bag of ideologies. The movement itself is apolitical (that's the point) and anyone can do w/etf they like. But yeah, the people and creators are skewed to the right for sure.

There's a whole thread here already: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/comicsgate.38138/

That's not what I'm in this thread to discuss. It's not some breadtube invasion of comicsgate. I just want to understand what it is exactly these breadtube guys are doing and apply some of that to what I am doing with my own stuff. And there's no better place on the internet for coverage of niche Internet communities than Kiwi Farms.

So I'm gonna watch along.

I can't help but see comic fans as sad pay pigs at this point, but I'm probably just too young to be part of their generation. At least some people are making a living off it.

The movement itself is apolitical (that's the point)
>Creates a movement (hugbox) as a response to the other hugbox and political pushing that is happening with modern comics
>The people of CG are predominantly right-leaning
>Says it's an apolitical

Okay...

Also, you do realize that majority of the thread is making fun of your movement, (from what I'm reading so far) correct?

Edit: I don't want to go too offtopic, but 1. wasn't comics was already hamfistedly political? Even in the golden age
and 2. Why do I get a strange feeling, that, let's say... I make a comic that stars a minority, and it's not hamfisted, I still wouldn't be so welcomed despite "anyone can do w/etf they like."

Yes.

1. I did a book that takes a public domain ham-fisted vs the KKK political golden age comic and re lettered it as a parody / satire. And also I did an alt history book where Kim Il Sung leads North Korea to win the Korean war. All while dripping in communism. (almost) everybody was welcoming.

2. There are books like what you're describing but I'm not gonna hold someone up as a human shield and say "look this person is an oppressed minority" because that always looks like "Hey, I have a black friend!" that's exactly the kind of shit I would call out someone else for saying.

3. Let's not talk about CG, like I said it already has a thread.

nah lets be real here, the "movement" is a bunch of rightoid grifters milking their low iq followers for money and fame
"buy my shitty indie comics to own the libs" tier shit lol

"breadtube is a bunch of leftoid grifters milking their low iq followers for money and fame by..." what's the rest of that sentence?

That's what I wanna know. I'm not here to preach the gospel of comicsgate to you.

Is The Gravel Institute a Breadtube(r)?

Yeah I'd say it falls under that category of progressive left populist. Its left politics that stand out from mainstream corporate democrat and liberal.

Yeah, kinda hard not to see them otherwise.

of course they are lol, and probably more successful too cause i don't think the comicsgate dudes get as much money as contrapoints or vaush do

I'm actually not sure how the money works out. The breadtubers are probably more famous (especially Contrapoints who's a minor-league celebrity of sorts), but comics pay pigs really do shell out.
