Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

Can employers make COVID-19 vaccination mandatory?

Yes, with some exceptions.

Experts say U.S. employers can require employees to take safety measures, including vaccination. That doesn’t necessarily mean you would get fired if you refuse, but you might need to sign a waiver or agree to work under specific conditions to limit any risk you might pose to yourself or others.

“Employers generally have wide scope” to make rules for the workplace, said Dorit Reiss, a law professor who specializes in vaccine policies at the University of California Hastings College of the Law. “It’s their business.”

I'm gonna get the vaccine at some point, whenever it's my turn in our exceedingly slow vax rollout.
However, I'm not convinced why I should take it. Yeah, it lowers the risk of a serious infection for me, but that risk is already extremely low for me. Yeah, the reduction in risk is probably higher than the risk of complications from the vaccine, but still, there's not really any point to it, isn't there?
Yeah, I'm gonna take it. Mainly because by the next wave in autumn there'll be constant restrictions, chicanery, and general annoyances for anyone not yet vaccinated and never infected.
I'd also take the option of getting infected, but it's getting exceedingly hard to find anyone infected around here. Or anyone at all. For the past seven month I've seen about two people without masks on a regular basis in relative proximity indoors.
So the only option to get out of this shit is to take the jab. There might be little point to it, but well, what am I supposed to do? I know it's cucking out and bending the knee and whatnot. But I'm not principally against the vaccine, just not seeing the point for me personally, same with the flu shot. The main difference is that with the flu shots there isn't a whole army of faggots telling "Just take the jab, what's the big deal?", making me quite cautious about the whole thing.
I hope some big-ass side effects show up before it's my turn so I can laugh at the world and roast some marshmallows on the fires.

This thread is going to age like fine wine once the side effects start kicking in and the boomers start dropping like flies. I give it three months. See you all in September.

Also, if your employer is forcing you to get vaccinated, you can always lie about it. Not like they're legally allowed to do anything about it anyway.

Pretty much. If your boss says get it, you can either get it or get fired, unless you have some real reason you can't, like something protected under the Americans With Disabilities Act, and just being a gigantic crying pussy isn't such a reason.

Funny, I thought that whining how everyone else should take an experimental untested drug would make one a gigantic crying pussy.

It's completely tested. It was tested on 90 and 80 year olds well before I got it. If it didn't cause them any problems why other than being a weeping coward would I think it would cause me problems?

Look, if you are so afraid of the coof that you demand that everyone around you takes a shot of an experimental drug that didn't even finish its clinical trials, you have no right to call anyone a gigantic crying pussy. That's all. Learn to deal with your fears, don't project it onto everyone.

The only coward here is you. You are so scared of this virus to the point of being butthurt over other people's choices. Projection much.

Bitch I'm not afraid of it myself, I don't like the idea of getting it but whatever. I'm not likely to die. I don't like the idea of infecting and possibly killing old people I interact with, because I am not a sociopathic fuckwad. I know that concept is difficult for some of you people.

The vaccine does not prevent you from getting infected. It only slightly weakens the symptoms. You're just as infectious after your shots, and you still have to wear a mask so you don't spread it around.

This kind of bad science and the fact that you're completely disregarding the damage from yet another big pharma public beta test tells me that you're not thinking logically but instead are driven by fear.
