Dream finally admitting to cheating is the start of the crumble, folks. It may not be a spectacular landslide of drama and reckoning that most would want, but it's still entertaining for someone as egotistical and manipulative as Clayton slowly lose his footing, one block at a time. Call me optimistic, but I can't wait for how things go on for the next few weeks.

Kinda wish he'd do a Cryaotic where he'd just have a manic episode or breakdown where he unabashedly admits how scummy he is. His fans would still lap his pus up, but it would settle a lot of things.

Have they ever mentioned that before? I know there was speculation that a mod meant for the hunter videos had been left on by accident, but afaik Dream never said anything about a mod like that existing before.

Iirc he admitted during the last manhunt analysis stream that they have custom server engine (is this how it's called? I don't know anything about this type of stuff) coded by Callahan and I believe that during this stream he talked about every change mentioned in that pastebin except for those drop rates
Also, I'm glad Clayton didn't remind people that Callahan was the one responsible for manhunt mods and instead just said 'we hired a dev', probably the only thing he has done right in the past months lol

Considering he specifically stated, that in the challenge videos there were modified rates, why didn't he immediately think upon doing this speedrun, that MAYBE something was up? It's not like he didn't know that the piglin trading was super lucky, it's not like he was oblivious to the rates. He straight up had to have SOME knowledge as a speed runner, a modder, a fucking admin of many MC servers, that something had to have been funky. This isn't at ALL something you just blanket for nearly a whole year as if you're in the right, especially since you mentioned that the entire reason why you went into hiding was because the truth was you did cheat, and keep it under wraps for half a year. You'd think someone who regularly clears his mod folders and other files would've done it just this once after literally upping spawn rates.

Gave the vid a look, since at around 1:06 is when the log issue happens.

A frame by frame screencap of the logs suddenly switching to the third loadout slot in the inventory.

A later post I made shows more video proof than this initial picture does so if you want more clear evidence, then go here.

For reference, you CAN switch your inventory to specific parts if you press certain keys (1-9) on an item to move it there, but his cursor is nowhere near the inventory, it's at the crafting menu. Somehow, someway, he put the logs in slot 3, and then into the craft menu. (he also hesitates for a second, and puts it on the bottom left one instead of the top right. Why?)

This is unreal to read. The main theory that best excused his cheating was that he uses increased odds for his Manhunts and accidentally still had it on for the speedruns, and that's basically what this statement boils down to. It's actually becoming exactly like the John Swan fiasco, but now on his end.

the most cancerous part of this so far is other content creators and his stans replying to the tweet downplaying how fucked up this guy is or calling the speedrun mods petty for unverifying his old runs. you can argue "it's just minecraft" but his morals have to be fucked out of this world if he cheated, knew he cheated, and went on to pretend he didn't for months at the expense of the people who caught him. his deranged stans hate geosquare to this day for example, and spread some weird shit about the guy for absolutely no reason which got more people to hate him. god knows what else clayton would be capable of, next time they might not be able to say that "it's just minecraft" and leave supportive tweets to farm a couple thousand likes

Something to add to the "why confess now?" thing, his 1.15 run, which was WR at the time it was submitted, has been rejected (archive) recently for being suspicious. As for what was exactly suspicious, the mods didn't make a public announcement or made it a widely known investigation, most likely because they don't want another multi-month shitstorm for themselves. Note also, that the pastebin focuses on the 1.16 runs and only mentions the 1.15 run in passing and saying that the issues the mods had were resolved. I guess they found something else, so the pastebin went up as a smokescreen and for people to say "okay but he already admitted to cheating see it's right here".

The fact that Dream stans so readily consume this clear smoke bomb for the recent drama is so hilariously autistic.
