Game will still sell like hotcakes (maybe...are ps5 exclusive games actually selling well considering nobody has a ps5?) but...what reason do they have for altering her appearance so much? She was always homely but she's basically a caveman so whatever. Why make her look straight up ugly?

They changed the mocap systems for many of their studios. It's why Spiderman had to have Peter Parker's head redone entirely. The older systems were incompatible with the newer ones when it came to data.
They also added many lens post effects to that trailer, so the close up lens in that shot makes her face look puffy.
The old saying about the camera adding 10 pounds still rings true.
Considering that it's been getting headlines and all the outlets are saying something similar, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a lead up to make cosmetic options a feature for the sequel. Customizing Aloy like Geralt especially if the track pad can be used to paint custom face warpaint, retards can take blue white and pink and decorate the transgender flag all over themselves. It's June coming up after all.

Original concept apparently made her look too much like a disney princess and bangs got in the way of all the head armor
The entire reason why her 5-Head exists is due to not wanting to make a gorillion variations of her hair so the armor could fit. They're elaborate in terms of resembling tribal designs or shogun helms so they need space.

Since we are just around tons of announcement, i just wanted to get this out. Hip hop is the new dubstep. Seems like AAA competitive shooting game these days use hip hop in it's reveal trailers. I already doesn't respect games that don't do OST, but most of the times is just a ultra generic...
