I remember how orange man made this exact point during his presidential term and he was mocked for it by the mainstream media, even though it technically makes sense.

I was so confused when that happened because I genuinely didn't understand at first what was wrong with what he was saying.

What amazes me is how so many people, in the UK( and elsewhere), swallow the media BS about variant risks and new waves, without questioning the numbers, STILL.
It is standard practice here that if a new variant is discovered and a bigger percentage of positives, in that test area, are that new variant then the testing ramps up. More testing centers might open up, the media tells people, in those areas, to go get tested and loads of people start testing themselves, at home, out of interest/fear.

This results in more positive test results because more people are being tested. The big scary number that morons get hung up on still means absolutely fuck all, on its own, because they more often, than not, dont say how many tests have been done in that area, so no ratio available, but the fact covid patients numbers aren't rising, and deaths aren't either, means there is no fucking terrible 3rd wave inbound. Maybe one day, but this indian variant aint it.
FFS the article that was posted upthread about covid patients(they only have had one jab or some bullcrap) had the NHS top dog saying there werent that many covid patients and, shockingly, said he was amazed how many non covid people were in hospital. Err...... that will be because there are more people with all the other illnesses and problems, than there ever will be with covid, and they have started going back in to hospitals. What a fucking moron.

People here have have been licking each other for weeks/months now and so many have been leading maskless, hugging, normal lives, for alot longer than the media wants other countries to believe, and the best we can do is 6-7 people dying within 28 days of a positive test.

More of a media flap and panic amongst the people should be about the ridiculous number of cancer patients who have not had proper treatment, in the last year or so, the rising alcohol deaths due to depression and the enormous fucking backlog of operations and procedures. Absolutely fucking definitely going to result in more than 6 deaths a day and social decay, not so far in the future.

Put these numbers with scary graphs on the front page, you lazy media cunts. How about more words of encouragement to get out and exercise and make the most of the bloody sunshine. Honestly; fuck them and this bullshit gov.

Here's there thing about these "scary" new variants: There is very, very little actual data that they are any more lethal than existing strains.
The study which showed the first UK variant to be "deadlier" found it to be within margin of error percentage IFR greater than the original variant in patients over 65.
The claim that the Brazilian variant is more deadly to young people comes from hospitalizations of people under 30 in a single city, in which case it went from like 2 patients to 8 patients, so of course it was reported as 400% uber dangerous to young people.

The fact is the majority of these variants are merely more transmissible and no more lethal - if not less lethal - than the original identified substrain.

IIRC there's studies showing that Xinhua and People's Daily will give you a more neutral and factual coverage of US politics and US news than the MSM will.

Don't worry the virus can't mutate its impossible, China is being honest about it (Clearly did not come out of a lab), and the Vaccines are designed to kill off and or maim/sterilize the people who follow the orders of the government. The funniest part of their conversation was their very very scholarly discussion on which vaccine brand has a higher affinity against the so called "variants" like the Brazilian, Viet, and Indian. The expat was apparently an English teacher in HK - color me surprised it's always the teachers.

Meanwhile I totally flaunted by not wearing my mask properly (always had the top rim below my nose) for 90% of the flight. What a charade this all is.

What's funny is how Cali and NY had some of the strongest restrictions of any US state, yet all the currently identified new variants with a US origin have come from California or NY.

There have been studies done on garter snake (Thamnophis ssp.) resistance to tetrodotoxin found in newts. In areas of their range that overlap with the highly toxic newts they have insane levels of tetrodotoxin resistance (so that way that can eat the toxic newt and not die) but in areas outside the range of the newts they have almost no resistance.

Or how penicillin-resistance in bacteria proliferated after doctors over-prescribed penicillin for decades, even in bacterial species that would have otherwise never had any contact with penicillium fungi in nature.

So the Amelia Island Councours d'Elegance is a very fancy pants car show for classics that date back to the 1800s and humble Youtuber and car mechanic Car Wizard went out to make a video on it. In the video, there's a massive crowd of people on the lawns looking at the classic cars and no one was wearing a mask - even the old geezers. You'd think that event happened before the whole coof craze but nope it happened just recently.

So I've got two stories:

1. My mother got her second shot recently (she decided to wait a while before getting her second shot because she thought there would be less chance for side effects; she also said she was peer-pressured into it), and she told me she has felt sick ever since, and her arm still hurts where she got the second shot.
2. I was at a book store recently that has mask mandates, and a man without a mask came in and was told by a staff member to leave. He tried telling her that he has COPD and would suffocate with a mask on, but she said no exceptions and that she could do curbside pickup for him instead. Made me inwardly cringe.

Two hours ago I got the second part of the Pfizer vaccine.

So far my arm's kinda sore and I'm a little woozy but that could be because I need lunch.

Edit - It's now been about 7 1/2 hours since the vaccine. My arm feels like it's been punched and I'm tired as hell even after food and a nap. Granted, it's been a gray rainy day and those always make me feel blah. I demand to feel better, I have stuff to do.

Edit 2 - It's been almost 10 hours since vaccine. All my joints hurt. Fingers, wrists, elbows, neck, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles. Fatigue is real and in da house. Also I cannot stop eating HUGE meals, one right after another. My stomach hates me and my instinct is still pointing me toward the kitchen. WTF. This blows.

Edit 3 - 16 hours since vaccine. Went to bed a little early because I felt bad. Ended up tossing and turning and feeling like I was freezing even though I had plenty of cover and the house isn't cold. Also pinprick-like stabby feelings in random places, usually legs. Finally got up to see about myself and not only am I tired and everything is creaky and hurts but I have a fever of 101.6. Not the worst thing in the world but it is inconveniencing me so I complain. Gonna have some Tylenol and go back to bed.

Edit 4 - an hour since last update. I still feel the same except now I'm overheating instead of cold, I'm really hungry and it feels like an ice pick migraine is trying to start. This sucks.

Edit 5 - 23 hours since vaccine. I woke up feeling like my shoulders and hip joints were frozen. There are SO many muscle, tendon and joint pains but I guess I expected that after all the tossing, turning and shivering I was doing last night. Had a fever of 100.4, took some ibuprofin. I'm hungry but my stomach isn't awake yet. The last time I was craving such vast quantities of heavy food was after I'd had a surgery to remove a tumor.

Edit 6 - 33 hours since vaccination. After a nap and a hot shower I felt a little better but still stiff and achy. Random fatigue hits out of nowhere. No matter how much I eat I still feel like I need more. My temperature as of a few minutes ago was 98.9. I'm doomed.

Edit 7 - 36 hours after vaccine. I still feel achy and blah, like I'm coming down with something or if I've overworked myself. Like if I'd just moved house or attended a 3-day convention with lots of cosplay wardrobe changes. Temperature is 99.3 so I'll probably take some more Tylenol or Ibuprofin before bed.

Edit 8 - 48 hours since vaccination. Woke up this morning feeling like I usually do. Not sure I trust it. Temperature 98.0. I am waiting for a limb to fall off or superpowers to manifest.

Edit 9 - 3 days since vaccination. I think I might survive it. Not sure if recommend or no.

Thanks for keeping us updated, you should make a new post after a certain amount of time, I forget to check your edits. I couldn't help but be reminded of a horror movie I saw, there was a specific scene where the woman was undergoing some "changes" after "mating" with an alien creature, and mentions she's soooo hungry......I may have been picturing your situation like that .
