The most hilarious thing about the situation to me is that he had already pretty much gotten away with it, but he decided to kick the hornet's nest because it wasn't enough for his ego. His sycophants lapped up his every word, he had gotten them to harass the speed run mods to the point they were afraid to give him anything more severe than a slap on the wrist, when anyone else in this situation would have gotten a lifetime ban with their other runs purged, but no, he needed everyone to say he's an innocent good boy, even if he did do it.
It's so stupid I have to think there was more to it that had Dream on edge. Perhaps it was only the 1.15 runs being deemed suspect by the Minecraft speedrun mods or maybe since this was all part of a plugin he's been using for a long time now, along with friends, he was worried that someone else may mention the plugin?
In any case, Dream is too retarded to defend himself on these issues. Dream has said the following...
"It's a plugin not a mod, they're totally different."
"I didn't even know what the mod did, I just used it for my videos!"
"No one else acknowledged the crazy odds from my streamed runs with the mod active so how could I notice it?"
"I deleted my mods folder because I was salty and my mod conveniently doesn't report to Fabric so it doesn't show up in the relevant modding logs"
"I decompiled a ton of files trying to figure out what it could be."
@Mirage Man said, if you just pick apart Dream's recent disaster stream you run into all sorts of insanity and I agree. I'm not going to do it, but you can jump to any timestamp to see how retarded Dream is being.
Regarding the decompilation Dream says he did, in his
apology essay he states they hired the mod developer because Dream and George are not familiar with programming Minecraft mods, only plugins. So Dream needs to hire someone to do mod development but he can reverse engineer Java files relatively quickly to determine what they're doing? That whole bit makes no sense, there's no need to reverse engineer anything, he
paid a developer to make mods like this, so why not just ask that guy about if any of the mods affect drop/barter rates?
Even more retarded, Dream says he was unaware of the offending changes to the game being added to "The Dreamteam Mod" which is what prompted him to reverse engineer things that he admits he's unfamiliar with anyway.
So he has a mod developer updating his mod and Dream doesn't even know what's being modified and the dev never sent Dream a DM saying "Hey dude, for your SMP series I did change the drop and barter rates a bit. Maybe you had it loaded?"
