Well the guy is a retard. Nazis actually could have won the war actually if their orginal plan hadn't been fucked. Nazis had many advancements compare to other European countries hence beginning of the war they were winning against the allies. They had plan to attack the the U.S before the U.S even joined the war. but their alley Japan fucked up the plan for personal grudge and attack the U.S one year earlier ruinng that plan completely. Also it said if Spain had officially join the axis the war would have lasted a year longer.

To say the Nazis had no chance of winning the war is ridiculous.
The best Germany could've hoped for was the UK peacing out after France fell, which they might have done had they not been wary of treaties with Germany anymore and the Germans letting most British troops evacuate Dunkirk.

Back to PH. I quoted people from the Extra Credits thread on his when he was brought up but he is really spergy and basically the most Reddit of all YouTube history channels. His dumbest take is complaining that German propaganda continues to work cause of staged battles and shit they filmed for the German public because they convince people the German army looked cool and was strong (which was true up until 1942, after which they slowly fell apart due to production and fuel not being on their side). This is stupid for a number of reasons, in particular all WW2 combat footage is propaganda whether it is real combat or staged combat. This isn't like Afghanistan or Iraq where you have soldiers with their own video cameras filming life on base with their buddies.

The guy overall seems to grift off of anti-wehrabooism, a thing that died in the 2010s and only continues to exist due to assblasted leftists needing boogeymen in the current year.

He sounds legit stupid. What you said is pretty accurate. If the Nazis were that incompetent as he is saying than how would he explain them nearly taking over eroupe. I'm not defended the Nazis. But the guy seems legit retarded and is stuck with " Nazis are dumb" in his head that he can't seem to acknowledge why they were a threat.

Lindy goes all over the place with his fart huffing,
lindybeige just reads documents and books then makes a lecture. there's nothing fart huffy about his channel. it's benign
edit: if there is a bias it's because of the source, not himself. I really do believe lindybeige is one of the best history youtubers out there and he has no bias (of course he has an ideology but that never shows in his videos)
AltHistHub is another alt history channel like the above but is far more tame. Not much to say on him beyond that.
while he is leftwing it doesn't show in most of content. the thing about althisthub is that his alt history videos only fall into two categories: 1. the change is so enormous that we can't even speculate about it or 2. the change is so small that nothing would change. more than of half of the length of his videos are just the history behind the event he's going to speculate about so it's hard to even call them alt history
Monsieur Z is a /pol/ tier edge lord or possible neocon who focuses on alt-history and tends to sperg out from that point of view.
he used to be like that, but in all of his recent content you can't tell that he is far right. he was on JF's public space once. I'd say he is farther right but much of his actual political views are unknown

the thing with all this is that these history channels only sperg out about their pet topics. like with the Haitian revolution; everything else is relatively unbiased history but this ONE event holds a special place in their heart because of left wing ideology so they will come from an extremely biased perspective

That is extremely autistic but my views on ET have lowered with some of those tweets. I always assumed he was an autistic lolbert obsessed with Georgism.

Rhodesia LARP is one of the cringiest things out there, but good God do anti-Rhodeyboos take the cake for being more cringey. It's the whole wehraboo shit from the 2000s all over.
I watched like five of ET videos .
And in one of them He had guest Cynical hystorian who fits in this thread as well.
And from what I have seen is your standard Western Champagne soycialist.
And ET said they were friends. So it is not that suprising he Is another useful idiot

Doesn't Cynical have his own thread or am I just thinking of gay tweets he made that got put into one of the Trump threads?

where he can't understand why Scandinavia couldn't sustain a colonial empire
Well i dont know there..
Maybe its cause we had like 20% the population of other european nations and could barely sustain ourselves until after WW2. My parents used to tell me tales of their grandparents whom stored as much as 50kgs of meat cause they were ready for bad times.

The only time we had an empire was when we either outclassed the other nations in tactics gustav den andre adolf or bravery and sheer will aka caroleans. When we embraced gåpå. You can go out to the staunchest swedish empire supporter in boonies and even they will be like... Well the empire was great and all but it didnt have any lasting power...

Watching history channels is a lot like watching game reviewers all of them have their own baises and sperg buttons which you can learn to recongize so you know when its time to stop listening. When Jim sterling starts to talk about captilsm or Lindy biege when he goes off on France or Napoleon.

Lindy is a retarded British nationalist so everything is through his proud Anglo eyes. I don't even mind it as it's pretty funny whenever it's relevant and he's certainly aware of this, but it's silly to say there's no bias.

I consider Lindy a great storyteller and treat him as such. Fun background noise.
If you want a look at his biases then I think the videos with him and tanks tend to have them on display quite prominently.

isn't that a meme? In all his videos I have never heard him be biased towards the British whatsoever. But now I don't know what to think

The Bren v Spandau video is one of the best examples of this. He tries to say how the Bren gun was used well beyond World War 2, ignoring the fact that the spandau is also still used today just under different designations and also served as the basis for the FN MAG's important bits which as far as I know is used all over NATO and then some.
There are enough dumb things said that he made a followup video due to the reception. Lindy is like journalists in that if he talks about a topic you're familiar with, you realize he is a bit ignorant on that subject so is likely a bit ignorant on other subjects as well.

In one of the tank videos he goes on about how good British tanks were for their specific roles, similar to the Bren video, but I don't remember which video it was and they're too long to sift through right now. British tank doctrine and design during WW2 was often stupid but he doesn't like to go into those details.

Tankfag here. Lindybeige's video with the Chieftain is extremely uncomfortable to watch. He doesn't know shit about tanks and revels in the soystershire/teabooism. I haven't watched it in a while, but I do remember them fighting over the Valiant's usefulness, and Chieftain correctly saying that a few of it's errors are overestimated, especially it's tendency to eat legs. They clashed a lot over the Sentinel, because Lindy doesn't know much about Australian AFV design, and if I recall correctly he made a statement about the turret ring and shot trap saying that they were way too exposed, and Chieftain told him to shut his ass up.

Also he has no excuse for not knowing of the existance of the MG-3, it's been used in AFVs in pintle/AA mounts for years.

Potential history has returned after 7 fucking months to make a video about the H.L Huntley

He also ended his most recent Midway review with a huge rant about the movie giving tribute at the end to japanese soldiers who died in ww2 and how it's in poor taste because of the brutality of the japanese forces in ww2.

Seems a bit eurocentric honestly.
Western powers developef a cartel system for the treatment of POWs after centuries of conflict between monarchs who often happened to be related. War in Europe became a sort of regulated affair where all parties would follow the rules or risk facing a coalition war.

Japan never experienced this development, and all the way up to ww2 fought against other nations who would show no mercy, and execute captives
Not developing or copying the cartel system as weapons get deadlier and war gets faster does sound like a failing IMO. Is honouring the veterans of the other side part of that cartel system too?

I think the anti-wehraboo talking points serve to make the Western Allies seem weak, that they struggled so much against such a dysfunctional nation and only gained the upper hand when the Soviet Union came in. The Western Allies were extremely socially right wing by modern standards (especially Winston Churchill), so it makes sense for the usual suspects to knock them off their pedestal. Plus it fits with the tendency of modern media to portray villains as pathetic (i.e. Kylo Ren).

I wonder if there's a tendency to conflate virtue and competence. It's like they don't believe that evil or even irreconcilable differences exist, it's only the output of some sort of dysfunction. Soviet propaganda is like this too, the bad guy is always a pathetic little gremlin about to be smashed by the Chad proletariat.

Hell mostly the only thing to really save the Soviets was their sheer numbers of men to throw in the fight, lend leases from the Allies, and especially their dogshit infrastructure which stalled any Axis advance through the muddy terrain until actually competent commanders could take charge as Stalin had a large numbers of them killed or put in Gulags.

Though I think WW2 sperging is best left for its own channel and not here.

All I'll add to this discussion is that Invicta is soy and Townsends is based.
Townsens is based.

Drachinifel is pretty good too if you're into naval history. He does very limited alternate battle stuff but he mentions that him and some other people elaborately wargame it out instead of just making shit up.
