It's a kilometric post that I won't bother reading in full, but I link it for the sake of posterity. If the upvotes mean anything then its being accepted by the community (in contrast to Southpaw's thread which got downvoted hard)

Surely they have to realize this is a losing battle, BTAS is well regarded as one of the best superhero cartoons for a reason, and it's not like people have nostalgia goggles cause no one has seen the show in over a decade, fuck sake all the episode plus the Phantasm and Sub Zero movies were released on Blu-ray a year or two ago. There's a reason Timm was allowed to keep going with the JL shows, because of the reception to BTAS, what is he trying to prove? This is what happens when you gather a group of people who are obsessed with being right and smarter than others. I don't think contrarian even covers what this is anymore, this is some whole new level of pretentiousness.

It seems that the EFAP community is falling behind Southpaw. I clearly overestimated their standards and self-awareness. I now dispose of my theory that everyone dislikes or begrudgingly tolerates Southpaw. They clearly see him as a standard to follow and that his behavior is actually beneficial to community. I keep on giving them the benefit of the doubt and they keep failing me, making me feel like I'm the one who lacks awareness.
I predict that they will start to imitate Southpaw further in behavior outside of his constant arguments. He is EFAP's traits embodied, so why shouldn't they imitate him? He clearly represents the best they have to offer.
Meme Repository is being a good little objective slave, admitting that something that he loves is a guilty pleasure because it was objectively bad. He's a self-hating comic book fan.

This is the same guy that's roughly mid-late twenties, gets home from his shit retail job, no girlfriend and argues and spergs about capeshit with strangers on the Internet until 3AM, nice "life" you got. Also, him implying Mauler has any life is hilarious, as if Mauler doesn't get paid to basically spend 90% of his time sitting at his desk playing games and watching random movies and shows. I like how he mentions going on errands, something every adult has to do and shouldn't affect your job that pays you much better than retail or min wage, and is way easier than those types of jobs. The amount of dick sucking going on here is insane, he doesn't pay you Southpaw.

Speaking of which, during some long boring talk he had about BTAS on the Discord, he admits this:

I didn't read that novel from Meme Repository, but from the answers it seems most are in the "Yeah he should be allowed to feel how he does about things - but he could stop being a dick about it"; so I wouldn't say they fell behind him 100%, more like they really didn't want to go against Meme Repository.

I don't think Southpaw will change and eventually it'll cross some line with most. Hell, even Nerdrotic and Az gave him some shit and called him out on BTAS, calling him a contrarian rather than "objectively critical".

Except the issue isn't people insulting in front of you MauLer, it's more towards people are talking about you without your knowledge until you are actively searching for it that you have to sperg about it.

In case you missed it, Nerdrotic and Just Some Guy got into a feud with the LOTR fansite theonering.net so chances are the show will be centered around that. There's always the possibility that the BTAS take might make an appearance but we all know that the FM guys will just roll over.

MauLer will continue to defend and emulate Southpaw's corner of EFAP, without understanding why they are hated, or why he is hated, for that matter. Sure, the Raimi fanboys are acting out of line, but these idiots have done nothing but continue to aggravate them instead of ignoring them. They should just realize they will never be 'enlightened' and leave SM2 alone, but they keep acting like broken records. Don't they get tired of this? As the hostile tweet said, the really need to do something meaningful with their life.

You are on the money here. He got seduced by the lazy, low effort content (and better paying) that is podcasting, and there is no going back.

For myself i consider the ''In defense of Dark Souls 2: A measured response'' series not only Mauler's best, but also the best, most thorough analysis of that game out there.
Sadly, he never returned to similar topics.
And i haven't lost interest in the long format, having recently listened to a 7,5h Bloodborne essay and a 8h Morrowind one, both from channels with under 10k subs, but while certainly long, the EFAPs are just a directionless mess i cannot stand listening to for more than 20-30 minutes.
Thankfully there are plenty of other ''longmen'' who are still true to the formula and provide hours of substantial content, so what do i even need Mauler for at this point?

I just remembered that someone came up with the path the most INs take regarding their career, called the Tim Buckley Path, after good ol' B^U, and you can apply some of this to Mauler. It goes like this:
1. Gain a fanbase- TFA, TLJ, DS2 longman/unbridled rage videos.
2. Decline in quality-less of the former videos and more efaps with superchats enabled.
3. Create a strawman-I think they've done this to some of their fans or some of the people they've covered on efap.
4. Censor your Forums- Not Mauler specifically but you have SP locking his twitter, I'm sure they've had mods ban people on discord for stupid reasons.
5. Treat fans like shit-The recent shit with how they've responded to fan response to their coverage of certain media (Mandalorian, RE8, BTAS)
6. Become a pedo-Mauler thankfully doesn't strike me as the type.

I just found him obnoxious when he said that you have to play trough the game atleast 4 times to have a good understanding of the game.
No you can get 50 minutes in and perfectly understand why its worse then DS1.

I only listened to a couple of hours, but just as an FYI, the only remotely notorious thing was that Ryan called out Doomcock on his fake and gay rumors, and Rags kinda questioning him about it and making it awkward.
 
Wolf was accused of being a pedo a few years ago. From what I recall, he was tricked into sending dick pics to an underage girl who lied about her age. He got an autistic thread made on him over this, which was moved to spergatory.

This is what caused his first departure from YouTube. He was taking part in the EFAP on TRO/Quinton's video when the accusations boiled over, which forced him to leave early.

There was also the whole Jared Genesis saga, where EFAP cut ties with him once he admitted he would date small children - but they should have never been exploiting a clearly disturbed individual in the first place.
