Youtube having a couple dozen animal abuse/fake rescue vids and one known zoofag podcast wouldn't fuck their entire system because, unlike with Elsagate, most of the people viewing the videos aren't random unsupervised children who are too young to understand what a report feature is. A huge part of the reason why Elsagate became such a big thing and why it triggered the Adpocalopse was because there were literally thousands and thousands of channels built around exploiting the algorithm in order to expose kids to disgusting clickbait due to a complete lack of oversight on Youtube's side, but also no adequate supervision from the white suburban moms who couldn't be bothered to actually check what their kids were doing on a website that had a very open "extreme violence and porn isn't allowed; profanity, cartoon violence and suggestive content is fine though" policy until after they had already ingested a few Elsa and Spiderman pregnant kidnap needle videos.

Having dug around Usenet archives for ancient furry artifacts on the really old furs a few times and knowing a few furfags who have me dog up dirt on other furfags for black mail (though what furries find blackmail worthy is weird) I think the silence is more than silent acceptance and more systematic. Speaking out seems to always draw the ire of someone with power. Con organizers, site admins, reddit moderators, zine organizers, major artists, fur suit makers, etc c..

Kind of the issue with pegging down a trend for something as admittedly broad as the furry fandom is, it's so massive that it kind of splinters off into smaller and smaller niches that can number into the tens of thousands on their own. However, it's hard to deny that a.) the fandom, in general, is far far too accepting of zoophiles and zoo content, and b.) there's arguably a culture in the fandom of enabling this sort of extreme degeneracy (for as head tilting as a neon wolf with three cocks and nipples larger than his head is, it's at least removed enough from a real animal to be construed as such) because of an impulse to be 'tolerant and accepting' to a frankly absurd degree.
