Kids nowadays know that porn exists, right? Like, they can watch videos of people that look like whatever fantasy they're made in their head fucking/getting fucked. Every time I read this thread it makes me feel like I'm 200 years out of touch with the youth.

This is probably worthy of its own Deep Thoughts thread. Porn culture and the porn market have changed radically since early internet days. Kids accidentally run into porn and as you see in this thread, kids will run into horrible fetish shit that is posted to social media like it's no problem. There's probably a lot of contributing factors but in the case of Dream I think the mystery allows for psycho teen girls to insert their ideal boy into art and their fantasies and just call him Dream.
Plus Dream encourages this even though he has to know a lot of the fan art is legitimately insane.

Girls have been doing the whole gay art thing for awhile now, South Park even had an episode on it because apparently there was yaoi art on Craig and Tweak. Back in the day girls fantasized boy band singers whisking them away to their mansions or what ever and now they "ship" various e-celeb boys and support fetish art of them that's really just generic skinny guys vaguely resembling the e-celebs in question.

It's possible it's something like "I feel like I know this person so I'm sexually attracted to them and the ideal I have in my head"
Since most of the stans are girls, it's not uncommon for women to be more sexually attracted to someone they like the personality of. Not that the same isn't true for men, it's just something I've noticed with a lot of women, especially when it comes to creators. They fall in love with the "perfect but flawed" character the person puts on, and since streams can be seen as "intimate" as well as twitter access allowing you to interact with said creator, they feel some kind of bond and so they start lusting after them.

Also, since Dream is faceless, to them he can look like whatever they fantasize about. The same thing happened with Jschlatt before he did his face reveal, a lot of people made him an "attractive darkskinned spanish man" which might have been based on his "what's poppin" fancam, but it still was a very fantasized version of him. People do the same with Corpse now.

It's like they like the ability to put a idealized body onto a personality they like, and make it their ideal fantasy at the same time.
