I don't get why troons constantly say that their critics are trying to erase them from existence. We know you exist, nobody's contesting that, we're making fun of your hideous appearance and the obvious mental illness underlying all your decisions. It's a very bizarre concept of identity to think that if everyone isn't constantly praising your choices then they're implying your existence is invalid and you're in danger of fading into nothing like Marty McFly when his parents almost didn't get together.

This is kind of a weird digression but I'm lowkey interested in Buddhism and Taoism, and they both are pretty critical of the idea of the self or of an identity that holds itself separate from the rest of humanity or reality. The Buddist concept of anatman, non-self or no-soul, basically says that the idea that you have innate qualities or a unique selfhood that make you different and separate is an illusion that stands in the way of enlightenment. Not that I am a Buddhist necessarily or 100% believe in this concept but it's very interesting to think about, especially because it's so alien to Western thought which has historically been highly individualist and egoist. Anyway all this philosophy sperging to say, Paulie's equating identity with existence here made me realize that troonism and idpol are pretty much the extreme, harmful expression of the Western concept of the importance of the individual identity. When you come down to it identity is just a collection of largely arbitrary things you use to define yourself: I'm this gender label, I like these fandoms, I'm anti-this but pro-that, I'm this subculture and political stance, etc. We all know how much Tumblr and Twitter losers like this stuff and collect labels. Is this identity your "self" though, and is your self the same as your existence? For me I have mixed feelings about it, I think there's some value in individual self-definition but clearly there's an unhealthy way to relate to the concept of identity, as we see with so many cows. I don't think you have to agree with Buddhism to recognize that.

Since fat pieces of shit like him figured out they can shout over legit intersex people and use the condition to bully, silence, and extort others. I said so in a different thread: Whaddaya gonna do? Tell Pauly boy to pull his pants down and check? Social Media has made it too friendly for lying POS like this to hijack and appropriate in the same EXACT WAY they accuse normal, level headed white people (projection) and use it to facilitate their bullying of others. It’s hilarious that his career of extreme body modification ends with being a shift manager at a Hot Topic in a mall in Indiana.

Would have been a lot easier to get his GED, die his hair green, buy a Ramones t-shirt and end up in the same place.

It’s a trend from 2014 era tumblr created by a cis girl pretending to be MTF to get attention, and the trans community as a whole is pretty much in agreement that perpetuating & trying to normalize them is actually harmful & makes the community as a whole look stupid.

I’m all for fuck the binary & if you don’t feel like a he/she then just go with they/them & live your life, just don’t be so boring that you have to have a custom set of pronouns that you demand people use in order to feel validated. There’s already states that recognize non-binary as a legal gender & educate workplaces and schools on using neutral pronouns. Implying that xe/xir catkins deserve the same kind of attention is absolutely rėtarded & will only hinder the progression/addressing of actual issues.
