I think the problem is less malicious deception by Dream and more his fans being dumbfucks who don't understand a cartoon avatar isn't supposed to represent how a person looks IRL, or what catfishing is. It's not like Dream used pictures of a real guy and passed those off as his own, or talked about having blonde hair or a trim body. Did he ever say "I am a handsome, fit blonde IRL"/"My avatar looks like me"?

Dream's fans right now are on the level of Jason Genova getting mad about Planet Dolan on Youtube not actually being a duck:

If you guys want context, ConnorEatsPants (on the Dream SMP but never streams on it) did a livestream a few hours ago where he announced something about lore for the server. Since he's more associated with people like Mizkif and Jschlatt he made his 'lore' the most ridiculous thing possible, which is that Dream is his actual father. Unfortunately since stans are all cumbrained 14 year olds this immediately backfired.
