Visited family in California and couldn't stand it. The restaurants have given up on social distancing but still have a ridiculous mask policy.
It's just theater at this point. My server asked that I put on my mask to use the restroom but their were four tables within arm's reach
that had a ton of patrons.
Everyone has now had a chance to get vaccinated and according to the restaurant they were proud their staff was 100% vaccinated. I pointed all this out and she went to go get her manager. My options were to leave or put on the mask when I left my table.
It's a fucking religion down there and I am glad I left.

It's my fault for reading stuff on Reddit, but these people are actually sick. They're celebrating some bullshit in New York that could get you a year in jail if you fake a vaccine card. Some think it should be even more than that. And here I thought lefties wanted the police and prisons abolished? Guess it's all fun and games until you lie about getting an experimental vaccine that people have every right to be wary and steer clear of!

Good God, the boot-licking projection with these people. They are basically saying "its not our government/employers fault for making us stay home/mask up/get vaxxed, its YOUR fault for not!"
I'm also noticing this weird pseudo-gaslighting/poorly-veiled "no u" talking point among doomers/branch covidians where they say "oh but what you antivaxxers/antimaskers/etc don't understand is that most people just want to get back to normal", as if its not their push to make everyone jump through hoops in the first place.

The majority of the folks who support the vaccinations and the masks and all the other bullshit just want all the craziness to be over. They don't fear the coof they're just heartsick of the lockdowns and will agree to pretty much anything to go back to normal.
Of course, there's no going back to normal after the past year's craziness. It's been a cultural and economic disaster that will be with us for decades.

I've finally escaped the Los Angeles hellscape to move back home to the suburbs, and it's great for the fact even in suburban Northern California nobody gives a shit about wearing masks in stores and restaurants at this point.
It's interesting to see how hardcore LA (I'd assume NYC would be similar as well) is about masks compared to the rest of the state. I've yet to see an double masked retards yet up here but on any given day running in LA I'd see at least a couple.

There's a real big media push going on in the UK at the moment. We will find out on Monday if all of our restrictions will be lifted on June 21st, as originally agreed. The government has always had the caveat of "as long as it doesn't all go tits up, we will remove restrictions on 21st June"
BBC however, are making headlines like 'johnson to possibly extend restrictions for four weeks, after june 21st' Their article was based on ZERO!!!! fucking facts and was just emotion, fear and disinformation.
For example; we have 20k cases a day, yet 55% of our population have had double-doses (this figure is wrong, as not all of the population has been offered the jab). The fuckery is in the testing; if you have had 1 or both jabs, you can still get and test positive for covid. Your positive test goes in the pile of tests. The BBC are using this to leverage opinion in to thinking we NEED another lockdown (don't read the comments, they all say we need more lockdown).
The country cannot stay in this position. We need people to get out and spend money to help the economy. It's almost as if people want to stay on welfare, stay inside and tank the capitalist economy.
