Apparently she interviewed Shaun Murray, the No Mans Sky guy. She says she got access to looking at their procedural generation tech and says it's "sad" how the game failed as it did at first. If what she says is true, how could you not tell immediatelty that their tech was way less than half baked? None of these people understand the technical side of game dev at all anymore.

I can't believe No Man's Sky managed to get so much hype behind it when you could spend two seconds looking up who Hello Games was, and seriously think about how the creators of a cartoony Trials clone could possibly create something as massive as what No Man's Sky was proposed to be.

Who are these people? Their descriptions says the first two are "industry veterans" yet their names don't even show up quickly on a search. Is the money coming from them or outside investment?

Also the Chinese nonsense looks awful. A mobile game looking shitty rts copying the name of battle simulator, a terrible looking sword game made in unreal probably, likely full of stock and bought assets, and a boring RTS with civ tiles and like five building types.

Missed the one they just showed, which appears to be another generic RTS. How are they somehow more creatively bankrupt than most of the western devs here?

1. Throw together a bunch of low effort shite

2. Get on E3 because the industry is fucked and will promote literally anything at this stage

3. A bunch of hyped up idiots preorder/buy your shite because they saw it slobbered over by talking heads who were just trying to fill in the time until the next Razer LED buttplug commercial or whatever

4. Disappear into the night with the money because the bar is so low at the moment that you can either undeliver/not deliver at all and no one will do anything about it

All the journalists hyping the game got to their position through connections, nepotism, or affirmative action and thus don't understand what hard work actually is nor what game development experience means. They probably believe that some mobile game dev can just jump right into making an insanely indepth space fighter.

the SAX was one of the things I liked the most about Fusion, I'm glad they leaned into it full-bore and said 'fuck scripted events, we want you to be scared shitless just by looking for item expansions'.

All I could really ask for at this point is that more of the robots spawn the further you play in the game right up until the point where you can actually start killing them.
