I just posted about the Chimamanda kerfluffle on Social Justice thread. It started as being about trans, but she calls out the whole gang.

Adichie's article so popular, her site went down.

In return, Emezi, a non-binary person, says that Adichie "hates trans people," and is trying to use her platforms to oppress the queer community.

Only the wokest of the woke disagree with Adichies stance on trans women. I think that's also why they're trying to bury it. They don't want normies to see that perfectly reasonable and supportive takes on trans women are deemed transphobic.

Not to keep sperging about this but this is another great example of my theory. It's not enough for this person to be Welsh, they have to put it in their bio (in a language they likely aren't fluent in) and make it their cover photo. Any little scrap of Interesting Identity a troon can grasp onto, they push everywhere. It's not enough to join a cultural group or speak the language or something, it has to be your identity and everyone has to know about it. insane.

There is actually an important aspect of it that most people don't realize and is hard to get out of that contributes to some of what is happening.

Namely, women and men actually argue in very fundamentally different ways. There is competitive debate in high schools and colleges (at least in the US) and its heavily dominated by men. For women to do well they either find a gimmick they can pull off, or their coach will work their feminine way of arguing out of them. A notable aspect of it is literally women's voices and tendency to get not just louder but higher pitched, which is perceived as getting more hysterical no matter how reasonable she is in her argumentation. Thus, TiMs present their arguments just as any other man would and natal woman plow ahead as is their norm and they will find it extremely difficult to adequately combat male argument tactics just due to how genders present these things differently.

There isnt as far as I know studies on this but you can speak to any women who competed at high levels in debate about their coaches teaching them to drop their voice or working with them on how they approach arguments. On the high school level there is also a reason you see more girls in "Lincoln-Douglas" debate than Policy and its linked to this as well.

An update on my personal cow, Reddit user UselessAltThing. I’m still not sure if she’s an actual real account or a very determined troll, because Poe’s law, but if it is true this trainwreck is wild to watch.

Now that's an interesting one to be sure! I almost think it's a determined troll, in that she talks about social issues in the way a conservative would. She refers to "the left" or "leftist friends" or "the leftist cause" a lot in some posts. I don't usually hear people on the left refer to themselves in that way. Also, this line, where she says she questions her political ideology because she doesn't agree with censorship: "People should not be censored by giant companies or angry mobs, and I expected the left I knew back when I was a kid to know that."

I don't know of any eighteen-year-old who would talk about politics in terms of "the left I knew back when I was a kid." Maybe it's just me?

Whether or not the account is a troll or genuine, it's definitely a cow... if it's a troll it's almost more impressive simply because of the posting volume. That's commitment lmao.

You know those celebrity death date bitcoin lotteries where people put money into guessing when will a celebrity die? Perhaps it's time to introduce celebrity or lolcow trooning out lottery of the same kind.

You need to make it like roulette. Make it where people can bet for a very small return on categories (like “from the cast of _________” or “men’s rugby star”) without specific people in mind. And then spots on the betting board for not exact dates, but triggers (like Ellen Page transitioning to a Dumb and Dumber character right after Kiera Bell’s case etc). The big hauls are picking the person AND the reason or date.
