well i only use the tapwater for dishes and coffee so would it really effect me that much?
Its possible. Those water testing kits are pretty cheap anyway though, even if you find nothing out of the oridinary its good to know your pipes are clean at least.

People have been poisoned very suddenly by water treatment issues though. The thing that made me think of bad water was how you mentioned the panic attacks just started suddenly in your life for no real reason.
like just blowing air at your thumb?
Yeah. Your vagus nerve is tied to a bunch of random shit. One weird result of this is blowing air on your thumb slows your heart rate a little. Don't hyperventilate while doing it though. A light blow as you controllingly exhale is all. Don't expect to go from 120 to 60 on a dime.
it's been going on every day for like 5 or 6 days, i think it will stop eventually. it cant be a rest of my life thing lol. but i am doing various things you guys have mentioned. i think i will need to find a medication that works
I tend to get weird episodes where it's basically every other day for a while and then I basically forget I even have the problem because it's been so long. It comes and goes for seemingly no reason.

Once. Was on holiday in an SEA country with my girlfriend at the time. She went to meet one of her girlfriends for a coffee, so, not wanting to be around her (she was a cunt,) I strolled around a huge mall and said I'd meet back up with her like four hours later.

When the time approached, I ended up getting lost somewhere in the complex. The combination of wicked heat, not speaking the local language, and being an anxious person anyway just sent me over the edge. Crazy palpitations, shortness of breath, mad feelings of overwhelming discomfort.

Eventually passed, but fuck me if that wasn't unpleasant.

It'll stop eventually, but 5 or 6 days straight is a sign that you should contact a therapist. Preferably one who's not on Kiwifarms.

Yeah, I mentioned this above, but iirc the current research consensus is that panic attacks can occur for no reason at all.

Well, not LITERALLY no reason; there's always some kind of mechanism of action at work, obviously. But it can be purely neurochemical rather than situationally-triggered - so unless you've got your brain hooked up to some monitoring machine, it'll seem like no reason.

If you are able, go to an urgent care. They will more than likely give you clonazepam.

nothing has changed recently. i will be seeing a psychologist
Take notice of you holding your breath, you most likely are and for prolonged periods of indiscrimate time.

It causes the heart to race and send the body in flight mode causing you to be anxious.

Establish the habit of breathing through your nose.

Breath deep from your belly.

Release out your mouth.

It will clear everything up.

I had them frequently when I was fucking up my body with heavy drinking, but then again maybe that was also because I was starving myself and constantly going into withdrawal since I had quit liquor. Its definitely different than just having a mental break and losing your shit for a few hours; its quite horrendously painful.

The experience convinced me that the people who suffer panic attacks are not physically healthy. Something is missing in your diet, or you are otherwise sick in some way. Go get a physical, with bloodwork, and maybe take a look at your supplements and medications to make sure you aren't poisoning yourself with something.

Try the following:
  • Hold your breath and swallow three times
  • Breathe into a paper bag but stop before you get lightheaded!
  • Drink a glass of water quickly
  • Swallow a teaspoon of sugar
  • Pull on your tongue
  • Gargle with water
If that doesn't work, have someone jump scare/startle you. Cures this sort of shit right up.
