McAfee made the coin (because "Epstein didn't kill himself") mostly as a troll job, but the Epstein user/token of the coin was done by the scammers shortly after.
Scam groups will make crap like that for new cryptos to try and setup pump and dump schemes because cryptotards are really easily scammed

Crypto is the greatest scam method since pyramid schemes and the biggest gift to money laundering in quite some time, outside of art purchases. It reminds me of an old con from the early 1800’s (after Jackson destroyed the US banking system because he was mad and didn’t understand ir). Basically, you go into a town and say you’re starting a bank and are promising great interest growth, secure funding, etc etc. Back in these days, paper money was something about any bank could hand out, and make themselves, so you’ve got a bunch of stuff you printed out yourself. You have a safe or whatever full of “gold” bars - lead painted gold or even bricks, so it weighs enough to not be too suspicious. You take all the savings and hard cash in state or federal government issued bills and coins you can, then skip town leaving everyone else with worthless paper.

If he really had a "Dead man's switch", why not just set something up to email a zip of the proof to a bunch of journalists and trusted people? He seems to have hired the scam group to make the token for some reason.
