Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

His son is probably going to stop the Taliban or die trying.

And to those who think communism is a good idea look no further than the Saur revolution 40+ years of conflict could have been avoided if that never happened.
That's neat. I didn't know his kid was a big somebody.

Also one of my favorite quotes from ass-crack of geopolitical discourse, nationstates.net, was "Afghanistan was always communist!" by some dumbass leftoid who refused to believe the communist government in Afghanistan was anything but a painfully obvious Soviet prop.

Indeed, there was a time when Afghanistan wasn't communist and still a monarchy and more prosperous.

If the commies hadn't screwed things, maybe just maybe the Talibans wouldn't be the force as we know today.

It's becoming rather clear that the Biden regime surrendered the country to the Taliban rather than to the current Afghani government. Seeing as entire Afghani army divisions are defecting and are getting a free pass home from the Taliban, when mere months ago cooperating with the Americans would've gotten them decapitated, we can safely say that the Taliban is now in charge and does not see the current government forces as anything but a recruiting pool.

Another great dipolmatic victory by the Biden regime, this will surely not return to bite them on the ass in 20 years like it did last time.

I forget where it was pointed out, but with the mass defections a lot of American weaponry is falling into Taliban hands. With such amounts transferring intact it may very well make the Taliban the largest user of American weapons outside of the US military itself. Given that the only goal of the deepstate is to enrich itself they may get a better deal of the collapse than expected. Trump was quite cordial with the Taliban and the radio silence from the Biden administration could reasonably be interpreted as an attempt not to alienate the soon-to-be rulers of the nation. Likely the weapons industry will end up with supply contracts for all of these Humvee, rifles and maybe even the Super Tucanos we gave the Afghan Airforce, this is too juicy a contract for indignant yuppies in D.C. to keep the industrialist away from.

Why would we sell weapons to the Taliban when we can sell weapons to the warlords that are going to be fighting them?

If money is all that matters then we should be selling to the losing side to prolong the conflict.

It's not even about the weapons at the end. Nobody gives a shit about selling weapons to the Taliban when countries like India buy 10 times more weapons every year.

Afghanistan's value to America was always in its opium production, and since big pharma is a large and influential part of the current American regime, they are obviously interested in having control over Afghani opium production. They don't want to stop the opiate epidemic, they just want to be the only dealer on the block.

Here's some more details about it.

That's not a surprise when Biden('s administration) already showed that he's willing to throw anybody who helped the Americans to the wolves.

The largest would probably be American civilians.

Yep, this is turning into the classic Biden betrayal. He's done it to Ukraine just weeks ago. Israel too, by removing sanctions from Iran and giving aid to Hamas.

The mexicans have taken over control of the illicit opiod market in america awhile ago so i dont know if that pdf is even worth reading.

No

Seriously though... this is one of the oldest and frankly dumbest "why are we there" talking points. Usually it's presented as "Gov'mt is secretly profiting from heroin trade!", or more frequently and less coherently "Gov'mt is trafficking dope" which are both (unfounded) conspiracy theories based solely on the premise that if Iran-Contra happened, then obviously it was happening again in Afghanistan.

Alhough you changed it up a little to "Big Pharma needs that dope!", that's actually even more retarded. Big Pharma doesn't need that dope, morphia is cheap, it's easily produced, and pharma companies legally produce on their own plantations, or buy from gov'mt sanctioned plantations in other countries. They do not need Europe's entire supply of "?" grade opium from a wartorn hellhole, or the logistical and PR problems that come with that, their margin is huge and the amount they spend on raw dope is trivial. Pharma sells a lot of stuff and really most of their products don't rely on muh opium alkaloids (morphine, codeine, thebaine, papaverine, and noscapine).

Virtually the entire US domestic drug supply comes from Mexico and S. America, with a small amount from the South Asian golden triangle producers. The arab holes produce dope for Africa and Europe, along with some Asian market share. A lot of it is shitty #2 and #3. That's why I always had to roll my eyes at the original version of this theory, yeah dude sure the US gov'mt is trafficking in dope that doesn't actually exist on the street. Nobody anywhere buys wholesale dope from white people (unless they're OC, and even then that's already been exported). The source countries are all controlled by their own ethnic cartels, working with the local gov'mts.

Does dope get diverted, or has someone padded their pockets in the last 20 50 years when you go back to the arming of the mujahideen against the Soviets? Sure. There are probably dimebag players involved around the edges. Is it some huge nefarious plot? No fucking way. Frankly that shit's too high-risk and simply just chump change for the big boys. What the fuck you need a risky hundred-million profit on drugs or pharma margins for when the gov'mt will happily spend trillions on "war" including contracts, personnel, medicines, food, construction, etc. There's plenty of pork for everybody!

It's not quite that big pharma needs that dope. It's that they don't want it produced in the first place, they don't need it hitting the streets in certain countries and competing with their supply. But yeah, part of the reason is the usual military industrial complex bullshit. Other than that, Afghanistan doesn't have much strategic value globally. Plenty of other shitholes for the Americans to test drones on.
