Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

Seriously though... this is one of the oldest and frankly dumbest "why are we there" talking points. Usually it's presented as "Gov'mt is secretly profiting from heroin trade!", or more frequently and less coherently "Gov'mt is trafficking dope" which are both (unfounded) conspiracy theories based solely on the premise that if Iran-Contra happened, then obviously it was happening again in Afghanistan.

Alhough you changed it up a little to "Big Pharma needs that dope!", that's actually even more retarded. Big Pharma doesn't need that dope, morphia is cheap, it's easily produced, and pharma companies legally produce on their own plantations, or buy from gov'mt sanctioned plantations in other countries. They do not need Europe's entire supply of "?" grade opium from a wartorn hellhole, or the logistical and PR problems that come with that, their margin is huge and the amount they spend on raw dope is trivial. Pharma sells a lot of stuff and really most of their products don't rely on muh opium alkaloids (morphine, codeine, thebaine, papaverine, and noscapine).

Virtually the entire US domestic drug supply comes from Mexico and S. America, with a small amount from the South Asian golden triangle producers. The arab holes produce dope for Africa and Europe, along with some Asian market share. A lot of it is shitty #2 and #3. That's why I always had to roll my eyes at the original version of this theory, yeah dude sure the US gov'mt is trafficking in dope that doesn't actually exist on the street. Nobody anywhere buys wholesale dope from white people (unless they're OC, and even then that's already been exported). The source countries are all controlled by their own ethnic cartels, working with the local gov'mts.

Does dope get diverted, or has someone padded their pockets in the last 20 50 years when you go back to the arming of the mujahideen against the Soviets? Sure. There are probably dimebag players involved around the edges. Is it some huge nefarious plot? No fucking way. Frankly that shit's too high-risk and simply just chump change for the big boys. What the fuck you need a risky hundred-million profit on drugs or pharma margins for when the gov'mt will happily spend trillions on "war" including contracts, personnel, medicines, food, construction, etc. There's plenty of pork for everybody!
Its not the Pharma companies, its the CIA and other intelligence agencies using it to fund their black projects.

I was told in a drug and alcohol class run by a 50 year old black guy counselor that all wars we have been in since Vietnam was for opium. He believed it 110%.

I'll also say from personal experience there are large swathes of Eastern Afghanistan that are just mountains and no dope.

I spent a year driving around kandahar province and would encounter large marijuana fields more often then the poppies. weed1.jpgweed2.jpg

I also remember an other old saying: "all wars are bankers wars".

Btw, Styx bitchuted about loser Biden who slow the retreat due to the talibans.

Looks like the ANA is starting to fight back in some regions, they recaptured Doshi district in Baghlan which is about 100km or so north of Kabul and Bagram. The underlining here is that the ANA will have to garrison this region with loyalist troops which diminishes their already depleted numbers, the Afghan government likely chose this district because it was so close to Kabul, but the numbers are not in their favor nationwide and once they start getting into the calculative game of what province can be saved and which can't they're going to lose even more legitimacy. This still doesn't stop the offensives in other regions, the Taliban captured another district along the Turkmenistan border, these border regions being captured are far more lethal than capturing interior provinces because American aid generally comes in via rail lines from the various 'Stan counties surrounding Afghanistan, they're going to force Western countries to fly in supplies via air lift to strangle the governments responses even further.

It's becoming rather clear that the Biden regime surrendered the country to the Taliban rather than to the current Afghani government. Seeing as entire Afghani army divisions are defecting and are getting a free pass home from the Taliban, when mere months ago cooperating with the Americans would've gotten them decapitated, we can safely say that the Taliban is now in charge and does not see the current government forces as anything but a recruiting pool.

Another great dipolmatic victory by the Biden regime, this will surely not return to bite them on the ass in 20 years like it did last time.

Yep, this is turning into the classic Biden betrayal. He's done it to Ukraine just weeks ago. Israel too, by removing sanctions from Iran and giving aid to Hamas.
So what happens now? We just see the entire country fall to the Taliban and then we see troops be sent over there to topple them and put in an American style government that’ll be shaky at best, all while our enemies take Biden’a actions at weakness and move to destroy their Great Satan America once and for all as soon they they have the means to do so?

I'm betting on China eventually moving in to occupy strategic locations and just cut a deal with the Taliban government since after watching both the Soviets and Americans fail miserably I doubt they're going to want to get any more involved than that.

Who knows, some next idiot country will try to get involved in Afghanistan and get stuck in another quagmire. Probably not China, it doesn't seem like their usual sphere of interest. No resources or Chinese interests there, for the most part. An interesting scenario would be India and Pakistan having a proxy war there, but that may escalate quickly. Realistically the US will probably end up getting dragged back there a few more times before some other country tries to get their name on the high score board.

One of the major "conspiracy theories" about the Afghanistan war being continued so long was it being a blocking effort to prevent Iran from making a pipeline across Afghanistan to China, American grand strategy is about keeping China boxed in, the recent Burma coup and alignment back to China opens up a new naval base and platform for operations and Afghanistan falling apart allows oil to be shipped overland via pipeline. Akin to the "no warm water" for Russia strategy the British used, the American strategy has been to keep China boxed into the South China Sea and that seems to be falling apart at a breakneck pace.

Make no mistake, I hate, fucking hate these faggot assholes for putting me in a position where I am within a thousand miles of being able to even remotely say "yeah I kinda get it" with regards to the Taliban and their tribalistic barbarism.
And no, I don't "get it" in the sense that I think the goat fuckers are justified in how they govern their territory.
But from a practical and realistic point of view, Biden is setting us up for Arab Spring 2: Explosive Boogaloo so hard and he is too stupid to even recognize it. This is a lesson that goes back to ancient times. Rome told themselves they were too big to worry about pissing off some little tribal warlords too and it got them embroiled in a barbarian insurgency that lasted fucking centuries and directly led to the collapse of the empire. All because Rome was so big and so powerful that they thought nothing of shitting on diplomatic agreements with barbarian warlords that were already willing to make peace terms and as a result the barbarians said "fuck this" en masse. Several hundred years of constant conflict with barbarian hordes later, Rome was no longer around, but the barbarian warlords' descendants were doing better than ever.
The same principles still apply today. America is often referred to in terms of being a modern Rome anyway so that's where I made the comparison. But the principle is still in play and it's still going to bite us in the ass.

There is no reason, past present or future, for the US to be in Afghanistan. Staying will only prolong fighting and the time needed for the county to come into its own equilibrium. Trump had the right idea to bring everyone home. Spending so much time and resources on a foreign war had only weakened America in the long run. The most patriotic thing Biden could do is have every US troop packed up and sent back home ASAP.

Biden apparently never ran on ending the war, which surprised me greatly since the progressives voted for him in large numbers but there was no mention of any anti war rhetoric or platform at the 2020 DNC.

It's not quite that big pharma needs that dope. It's that they don't want it produced in the first place, they don't need it hitting the streets in certain countries and competing with their supply. But yeah, part of the reason is the usual military industrial complex bullshit. Other than that, Afghanistan doesn't have much strategic value globally. Plenty of other shitholes for the Americans to test drones on.
If I was gonna commit I'd still lean more towards the "CIA pushes drugs for money" (although externally rather than domestically) part of the theory because this pharma thing takes way too many leaps. Pharma already has gov'mt blocking for it, they're legal, the rest isn't. There is also little crossover from illicit drugs to legal ones. Normal people (that is to say large numbers) get addicted to pills, but once they're addicted they don't just abandon their script refills, they do heroin and fill the script to sell. Pharma doesn't make money from addicts buying dozens of pills, they already made their money on the prescription, and the connection between the Rx and the street is convoluted. Now that the DEA cracked down on opiate Rx, it's not like an addict can just go and get a script of oxy (admittedly at one time they could do that just with a few extra steps).
Its not the Pharma companies, its the CIA and other intelligence agencies using it to fund their black projects.
Anything's possible, but in the age of unrestrained fiat and globalist policy, I'd still say "chump change". They don't even have to touch drugs, they could just protect the producers for a price. That's not quite the same as "CIA trafficking drugs", and it also overlooks any conflicts of interest with their gov'mt, local gov'mt, or other alphabet groups (including other countries' groups). It's a lot of steps to take without some kind of real evidence.

War good, Trump bad. It'd be funny if it wasn't so depressing. I think it's highly likely that the country basically warps back to the 90's, under Taliban and warlord control, only now they're even more aggro. Not really a surprise... I was still a kid when I formed an opinion on the Afghan war, namely that it's a boondoggle and Afghanistan doesn't sound like the kind of place that'll change in my lifetime. The only question is what will the US and (possibly) allies do about it now? If we leave (In'shallah), will someone other retard nation take our place?

Everyone just conveniently ignored the fact Biden never said anything about the endless war because whatever they told them orange man had in store was more dangerous than sending soldiers to die in the middle east for no justifiable reason whatsoever

Along the Tajik border the Taliban seem to be surrounding Sheberghan, likely preparing something more akin to a siege than assault.

However inside Sheberghan there seems to be something of a popular mobilization consisting of both men and women. I have my doubts these women will useful at all unlike the Kurds who have a gender equal military because they're communist, the Kurds have long standing military units and training regimes for women, these Afghan women are just picking up an AK-47 or other rifle in their colorful outfits that draw the eye. The fact most of these women are actually masked makes me believe this is more propaganda than actual military option.1624673105714.png1624673113737.png1624673122990.png1624673129421.png

Taliban highwaymen interdict a regime official's car and search it on the highway south out of Kabul to Paktia district, less than 50km out of Kabul.

If that's why we're there then why didn't we eventually make another deal with the Taliban?Bin Laden has been dead for a decade and it turned out he wasn't even there anyway so we could have just bought them off.

1000000% correct

Afghan heroin stays on Afghanistan or heads to Iran/Pakistan/India and surrounding areas. American drugs are Hencho en Mexico/Ecuador/Colombia or China.
