Pretty sure that's just the lighting combined with the filters that every modern phone has. Compare with pic related where she showcased her sunburn. There she's indoors and is significantly more tanned.

A: She got a fuckton of money and basically everything she currently wants right now (massive amount of props for her bgs, games, streaming gear, hobby shit like terrariums, etc) and potentially being a former poorfag she doesn't see the need to keep earning more money she has no use for currently.​

My bet is that she's very satisfied/overwhelmed with the level of money she's earning right now but not quite considering that this line of career has a expiration date. Especially with Kiara and Mori you have two people that know exactly what being poor feels like so they'll basically never say no to free money, I feel it's also why they communicate their appreciation for donations the clearest leading to them being the leaders in SC volume.
Additional factors being that Music production costs a whole lot of money, though that's at least somewhat off-set by being able to write them off taxes.

I wouldn't say that she had a successful career as an idol but she definitely wasn't unsuccessful.

based on her looks alone, and by the japanese beauty standards, she had the tools to prosper in the idol scene, it's just that she was dealt with a bad hand and pretty much got fucked over by the industry.

She usually announces the hour (Japanese time) when the stream starts in this rather minimalistic manner, unless I'm misunderstanding something. She does it quite often.

I recently caught up on Gura and she mentioned a South Park animator doing Hololive animations of her. Found him and pretty good.

I watched some of his animations and liked them, South Park style makes random rants even funnier. The only thing I don't like is the animator's obsession with Yagoo, he has to put his face in every video and focus on it for few solid seconds. Hopefully he will get bored of this "easter egg" soon.

Mori and Kiara worked and struggled in a completely foreign country. They needed to become independent, to grow up and/or at least lose their youthful naivety. They know vtubing is primarily their job and it won't last forever (if I remember correctly Kiara talked about it in their 6th month anniversary saying while she wants to do this as long as she possibly can it won't last ten years, five years or maybe not even three years). So they financially plan ahead and won't spend to much money while trying to maximize their income.

When it comes to music, both earn more than they spend (especially Mori). Mori's music is still in the charts and is streamed million of times (on Apple Music, Spotify, Youtube etc.). It's one big pillar of her income and while Kiara makes only a fraction of it, it's still enough to make a profit, because she always works with the same people (her friends and fans: Yunarun, Mamaloni, Spiritsnare, Gojo etc.) and so she doesn't need to pay the "normal" fees.

Interestingly enough Kiara explained in one stream why she wanted "Heart Challenger" to reach 1 million views. She said she would get more budget for her next song. That made me wonder if Mori and Kiara, because of their music background, have special contracts in which Cover financially supports their music making.

I didn't phrase myself very well but you have the most of it. I just want HL to avoid a social problem I think is coming for them sooner or later, not because I necessarily care about what the melanin level is of their talent. If it becomes a social problem I can see especially the Japanese corporation side mishandling the situation and causing the JP talent that has nothing to do with western social media movements to bend over backwards for an audience that will hate them anyway. I think if they find someone really talented who just so happens to be black and meshes well with the established talent then all my concerns are probably alleviated. If they don't get a black chick I won't care, but then I just hope it won't come back to bite them.

As for the neg ratings, they're probably people who are just tired of woke bs being rammed down on every hobby and profession as I am. They're just stickers anyway.
