and that's already pretty damn niche because even I have trouble naming anyone else in that scene, and I love reading about how emulation works

I don’t think anyone from here actually poked at him, but he could’ve just easily ignored this thread and it would’ve stayed at 13 pages instead of what it is now.

I wouldn't worry about that, if the MSM tried to run this story I imagine the general public would be confused at best and completely unsympathetic at worst. Try to imagine how you would explain this story to your parents without baffling them. The average boomer would react somewhere along the lines of:

"So a fully grown man killed himself because people were making fun of him on the Internet? Huh? Who does that? What an idiot."

This by far is the funniest part for me. Setting up a facade of being an elite hackerman without even realising there are numerous methods of preventing scans like that from working, from primitive IP whitelists to checking client SSL certificates. Plus checking only ~200 IPs takes not much more time than a single one, even regular for loop on bash will suffice. Definaly doable by yourself, if you're that much into infosec.

Even then, what the fuck are they gonna do with the IPs? I doubt they have the money for a good DDoS-ing service, and even if they have, trying to DDoS 200+ IPs that are protected by Cloudflare is just outright fucking stupid.
