As someone who isn't into emulating all that much, was bsnes really anything of note? I've never really heard of it but I'm seeing all these twitter posts saying shit like "It was the greatest SNES emulator ever!!"

The fact that not many people have heard of it (when compared to other snes emulators) leads me to believe no. More of a footnote, really.

edit: I thought the google doc was typo'd because codeine and guaf are a common prescription formula, but he tried to OD on some ADHD med with a similar name that lowers your blood pressure (which is basically impossible)

Suicides are a daily thing here. They’re not news and they’re not public info unless they involve a public figure (celebrity, politician etc). The privacy laws and/or public opinion about making private matters public in Japan are taken pretty seriously.

Something that has always bothered me about these clowns - and really, always has, second only to how quick they'll blame everyone but themselves for doing a flip (something we saw with a cow that actually did kill themselves, in as brutal a way as humanly possible, and made unambiguously clear that the reason she did it was how she was treated by her own community) is the fact that Lolcowdom is never a fucking endpoint. Guafenesin and guanfacine are not the same thing. One is an OTC expectorant and one is a blood pressure medication with potential ADHD applications. I've never heard of either being added to syrup to keep people from abusing it, although guaifenesin can cause vomiting in high doses. They use other substances to make syrup less abusable.

I find it strange that the guy who made the doc said he overdosed on codeine. Its specifically illegal to import and the only form I know exists is in cough syrup that only has 2 doses for the whole bottle.
The アネトン (Aneton) brand has 50mg of codeine per 60ml and comes in a 100ml bottle.
I have no idea if codeine is prescribed in a tablet form (or why he would get it prescribed.) It would be odd to say overdosed on codeine if he overdosed on cough syrup.
