I have to go tend to some irl stuff so I don't have time to unlock my super secret hyperautism weapon, but I trust at least some of you are retarded enough to apply my logic and come out with a result.
From experience I know that those little bar codes on the bottom of the envelopes mean something. When letter mail is sent through the USPS it goes through several layers of sorting machines that churn mail through at a blazing rate, iirc it was something like 15 pieces per second get tossed through that belt line. So to help with sorting there are bar coding systems to help mail get through the system more accurately, the bar codes are stamped onto the envelope and contain info about origin and destination zip codes, so that the sorting machines can quickly and accurately read the information and fling the letter through the machine to the appropriate sorting destination bin. This all happens very quickly organically.
But the key part is that those little straight lines on the bottom of the envelopes mean something, and there are established ways to decipher what they mean, just as with any other type of code.
