General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Also regarding why EN girls are on a separate server: Wasn't it their decision themselves? Maybe they wanted to play sooner rather than waiting for the 1 month collab ban, or they just wanted to start from ground up. Either way I agree with a lot of you that it was a a mistake and they should've stayed in the JP server.
Lol no, it was a decision of management for whatever reason, all the branches have their own server but when that proved to be uber retarded (Indonesia barely at the time having 3 members) they allowed them move to JP that after they were bitching, kicking and screaming that was a bad idea, when the apocalypse did not happen (and that weird spike for Moona when she interacted with pekora) they begin to lax the rule with Kiara allowing to go every time she wanted to flex she is a member of Usaken, and that came after several BUTS of management

Of course god forbid a member of Holostar entering the JP server, that will literally start World War 3 and glass Syria all in the same day

They chose to have their own server

Ref: the couple pages about Japanese middle (mis)management. Japanese companies is where ideas and innovation go to be wiped out.
That's not necessarily true. You can say many things about Nintendo over the years, but "they don't try new things" is certainly not one of them.

Last time she said she was going to do differential equations, but this time it's derivatives. I wonder if she misspoke the first time. It wouldn't make sense to plan to do differential equations first unless she were pulling subjects at random.
I think she misspoke. Although derivatives and integral was taught in high school in Asia, and some even appear on university entrance exams, differential equation and linear algebra were taught in Uni/college (stem majors respectively) I highly doubt those girls were even in stem major for that.
Though Ollies can just self study it up by watching those Khan Academy videos on YouTube.

I think if they were to switch over to Twitch cold turkey people would be upset if they have 1 year or in some cases even 2-year badges for their Oshii.
I heard about it. Not first hand. Any of you know the source?
Sadly video source is pretty hard to find. Mainly due to a lot of the conversations about it (the majority being from Ame) are from Superchat Sundays or Zatsudan streams. The part that I saw myself was when they first started having problems with their Realm server and Ame brought up that she was going to see if she could get a World backup and mentioned that if they were able to use that to make a dedicated server, they would be able to link it with JP. She was able to do that, and I think that currently they are no longer using a Realm server but a dedicated one?

I vaguely also remember the whole "Linking servers after we kill the Ender Dragon" conversation. But I can't for the life of me remember which stream this was. Maybe the one where they blast Ina into space?

I heard Kiara mentioned it in one of her streams. Unfortunately I'm not a chiken autist to know which stream she said that nor it was clipped. But that one autist who made a log of Gura's POV during the SummerFes has Kiara asking when will they beat the Ender Dragon in their server, left unsaid is because she wants to play Minecraft with someone without the collab hassle.

How many other companies would have actually put to market something like Labo?
Can we stop pretending that being the quirky weird girl of the video game industry is praiseworthy.

Congratulations, Nintendo sold people some cardboard, it was different sure, but it had zero lasting impact.

Just doing something "different" isn't virtuous on it's own if it accomplishes nothing lasting.

Let's not fool ourselves into thinking they do anything innovative, they do some weird shit from time to time while playing it completely safe with their first party releases while I'm struggling to think of any of their "omg weird quirky experiments" have ever mattered beyond where they start.

Didn't expect someone to actually argue Nintendo aren't innovators because they, too, rerelease games and ports.

It's not like Iwata had to fend off half his own company to go through with the Nintendo DS, or invest big money into the motion control technology for a Wii that would actually force Xbox and Sony to copy them. It's not like the premise of a portable home console at the cost of performance is something anyone else but Nintendo would risk.

Like holy shit. Argue that Nintendo are behind the times with their policies, or that Mario gets milked too hard, or that franchises X, Y and Z deserve more love. But arguing that Nintendo aren't innovators? You actually have to be insane.
