Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Is it bad that I want Disney to fucking do something with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit instead of just cameos? Like some shorts or something?
The fact they aren't doing anything with him in those new awesome Mickey Mouse cartoons in insulting.
This is like a bad South Park joke.

Seriously, is this what the gay community is like in real life? Horrible jokes and wanting to fuck one another openly?

goddammit I thought that was just one of twitter's flashes of lunacy never to be seen again. Turns out it's real. And I'm not even going to attempt to wonder what the fuck that thing is in the right-hand corner or it's "queer" work (jeez those walleyed dolls have seen some shit).

Gotta write/draw what you know. 🚬 Which is a theme in today's creators. I can't name a single one from 2010s onward who hasn't made at least one character (including the main character) similar to them and would rather spew preachy bullshit than be an entertaining escape from Planet Honkhonk.

Were. SU is over so now they've spread to other fandoms and it's not hard to spot who used to be an SUfag. But you are correct, there was a TON of drama that was equal parts lulzy (review-bombing the real Keystone Motel) and fucking horrifying (Jasper otherkins sad she didn't have a bigger role or was a uwu softgirl and wanted to do a flip).

What do you mean it "wasn't down to them"? No matter which angle you look at it, they did that shit and should feel bad. And feel lucky she didn't go through with it unlike other cancel victims who sadly did.

Why Allyship in any capacity does not work unless you are commanding armies in countries at war Exhibit "D". for Disney. Or douchebag, fuck that one hit wonder.
I'm saying the reason that person attempted suicide wasn't due to anything online IIRC, it was irl bullying. Not that it absolves the SUfags from harassing her in the first place, but it's a big thing to blame on someone and I'm not really comfortable with spreading misinformation like that.

What exactly did they buy him for if not to use him?
I suppose in the end, they bought him just so they could bury him in their vault.
Apparently there actually is an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit show coming to Disney Plus, at least according to some sources from 2019.
It’s something at least.

I'll believe it when they announce a date.
I swear half the cartoons that get announced and not teased with trailers or even production art are chickens that were counted before they hatched. We still haven't seen or heard anything about Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, some of the cartoon movies announced by CN or the Tiny Toons reboot. They garner up hype only to let it die down. It gets annoying. And disappointing when it gets quietly cancelled like "Me & My Shadow".

Animation takes time, no shit, but times change like crazy. Roll the dice, pick your moment to shine and pray to whoever will listen it goes well. The less projects that share the fate of "The Thief & The Cobbler", the better. And by extension "The Incredibles 2".

It's a battle to grab people's attentions these days. Not to get all boomer here, but back in the day there weren't as many choices for media as there are now. You gotta play your hand before you even have the right cards.
