Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Considering that great nations and empires have an average lifespan of 250 years before they collapse (as per John Glubb's The Fate of Empires), I'd say this is more than likely. I fully expect balkanization in the future, and that will most certainly lead to serious issues if a second civil war/american revolution would kick off. Look at Yugoslavia, and also look at the attempt at American balkanization in the 1860s. It's going to get really bad in Minecraft if this were to take place.
I think the side that has rallied around troons, mean-faced dykes, pedo faggots, and soy boys will find that their pet minorities might decide their ship is sinking if they see the productive whites starting their own enclaves elsewhere. Their coalition is more fragile than they think.

Maybe just the threat of balkanization will be enough to blow it apart? Red states being open and blue shitholes closed is pretty eye-opening even to the most die-hard gibsmedat inculcated minority leftist.

We may get a preview of this with Eastern Oregon counties having voted to leave the state and join Idaho. Such a proposition would have been unthinkable even two years ago.

I doubt the leftists would be swayed by red states being open. They have all the excuses in the world. Look at what they came up with when Florida opened up last year. They kept claiming that Florida was making up the numbers and that there were untold thousands dying in the streets! According to them, the state government was arresting whistleblowers all over the place. There was a sunshine gestapo arresting dissidents worse than Nazi Germanyyyyy! Now they have their delta variant that they don't even need to point to deaths to fear monger. Just say that it's ultra deadly and the end of the world. They'll happily shut down and put on masks again so they can show those chuds who are obviously dying in the streets.

Wowie guys we totally made Biden's 4th of July goals! I mean...only 47% of the country is fully vaccinated and people haven't been wearing masks for over a month now but...we did it!?! Congrats everyone.

I'm going to a massive celebration at a casino on a native reservation. They're still doing the biggest fireworks display in the area despite everything else being canceled. Seriously, the natives of this country showed their true based colors during this "pandemic", and they got quite a bit of my money in the process. White people really need to start making our own sovereign areas.

Edited to add: "Long Covid" is about to be the bane of every employer/HR office and insurance company. I'm already tired of hearing about it, and it's only been about a year. They keep pushing the thought that long covid effects kids, but the only people I see complaining about it are middle aged fat women with comorbidities. It is unironically the new "muh fibro" and a great excuse to get on disability for life. The symptoms are super vague ("brain fog", "tiredness", "headaches", "shortness of breath" - literally things every fat person experiences daily due to being fat fucks) and there's no testing for it. It mostly effects over 25 and under 50s, so young people get over it and elderly people are laughably stronger than these middle aged women. Men tend to complain of more "concrete" symptoms (things like chest pain and low oxygen saturation) and are more likely (and quicker) to report being fully recovered.

Well technically the U.S. has really only been in the category of empire since WW2 (you could stretch it to the late 19th century, from a non-militaristic perspective)

That's good.

Leftism sure looks bad after 2020, doesn't it?
It always looked bad.

The problem with "Long Covid" is that it makes no sense from a taxonomic standpoint.
COVID/SARS-CoV-2 is a Coronavirus, which is a temporary simple RNA virus. These types of viruses infect, spread then eventually die off in the host. They are, even at their longest infection cases, temporary.

"Long Covid" implies that SARS-CoV-2 is something along the lines of a Retrovirus (reverse-transcriptase) such as HIV/AIDS or a DNA virus (herpes, chicken pox/shingles); something that permanently infects the host and has permanently altered the hosts cells.
But this is not true.
That's not what it does.

Now, in the case of something like Polio (which is also a temporary RNA virus), its a matter of the virus infecting and doing serious damage to vital tissue (specially bone marrow & CNS).
So is it possible that COVID could do enough damage in 2-6 weeks to cause a long-term complication, HOWEVER:
1) It wouldn't be asymptomatic, if the virus is doing that much damage to your lungs, you will know you have it and know you have it bad
2) Because all actual cases of post-COVID damage come from ICU patients, there is a chance the scarring could have come from ventilators
3) One of the leading studies that "proved" COVID does long-term damage used no control group
4) The damage would also have to be so bad or your body otherwise impaired that it can't actually fix the damage the virus did. (Which again, applies to oldfats who were in the ICU and not kids with asymptomatic infection or munchies who think every "2:30 feeling" at work is "Long Covid")

I don't understand long Covid either. Like you said, decreased lung function and chest pain happens to lots of people following a bad respiratory illness, but it would be so bad you'd definitely know it and likely be hospitalized. The vast majority of Long Covid sufferers claim to have asymptomatic or relatively weak infections.

The LongCovid subreddit really paints a fuller picture. They can't agree on what effects constitute long Covid and their own doctors tell them they're fucking nuts. Occasionally they link studies (like this: https://www.news-medical.net/amp/ne...-may-be-the-cause-of-long-COVID-symptoms.aspx) but there's no way any one study can account for all these people supposedly experiencing symptoms.

The first set of problems sounds like the beginning of my first pregnancy with the exception of itchy extremities.

But it sounds like they just have major anxiety from being locked up in their house for a year. Long covid is the new "thyroid issues" these women seem to have.

Is there any chance of these insane vaccine requirements going away and the "Old Normal" fully returning?

(being optimistic about Clown World may be delusion hopefully there is one)
Sure, just like the post 911 anti-terror state gone away with the death of Osama Bin Laden. I can just go to airports and no weird humiliation ritual awaits me there etc. It's very chill. Things will be all fine.

Yes the vaccine is so ‘safe’ that someone who I am close with; and I know and tolerate very few people; their child just got vaxxed and they developed myocarditis within days of the second dose. Why they would have vaxxed their teenage healthy child is beyond me but yes Kamala; super safe (non) vaccine.

Fkng idiots

Seems like this "long covid" is more of a mental ailment vs some actual serious physical ailments.

A lot of these symptoms sound similar to side effects reported from the vaccines.

Prescriptions for anti-anxiety medicine started climbing in mid-February, spiking 34% by March 15, according to a new report from Express Scripts, a Cigna-owned pharmacy benefit manager.

Yeah pretty much. This pandemic triggered GAD, social anxiety, agoraphobia, and hypochondrism in a LARGE section of the population, mostly consisting of women.

I sure hope you're having a small party in your backyard where everyone is either vaccinated or wearing masks and practicing social distancing. I'm so glad Joe Biden and the Experts at the CDC gave us permission to celebrate Our Democracy like that.

Arguably since 1865, since that's when the feds united the country and cranked the Indian Wars and westward settlement up to 11 and then when there were no more Indians to shoot they had to shoot Filipinos and Puerto Ricans and other brown Hispanic types instead.

I just moved to a more conservative and rural place from the more leftist and urban craphole I used to be in. Less muzzle wearing and pushing for "you need the jab" BS. They're even doing a fireworks thing here.

Happy Independence Day! I hope the country breaks apart soon, if Covid didn't make it clear that the two dominant ideologies aren't compatible anymore nothing will.

I think the division in America is being egged on by the powers that shouldn't be. America used to represent freedom and independence, and globalist tyrants don't like those things.

It always looked bad.

2020 made it more obvious, and it looks even worse.

Things would have been better if we did what the Chinese commies did, and just ignore it completely. But instead we need to have everyone live in 9/11 era levels of fear. Land of the free right?
I would hardly call Chicoms welding people into buildings "ignoring it completely".

The Chicoms acted like totalitarian chimps and played out all the Branch Covidian power fantasies right until they had the rest of the world buying the hype hook-line-sinker, and only then did they simply stop monitoring the situation.

Even now though, the CCP is still appealing to Doomer/Covidian fetishes by bragging about how much of their population they force the vax on.

Meanwhile the Twitter has some shills who wish their governments were communist dictators that would VOOOXXX!!! as many people as possible.

Not that I take anything China says at face value, but I can see them vaccinating more people than other countries.

They're an authoritarian nation that doesn't give a shit about their people's wellbeing, of course they can make their civilians take the jab under threat of punishment for them and their immediate family. Anyone that experiences nasty side effects, or even dies, would be ignored or "encouraged" to stow it (I don't trust them to make sturdy action figures, let alone make safe vaccines).

I'm also sure that nations like Australia and Canada would be more than eager to emulate that behavior.
