Agreed, if you're going to watch DBZ, you'd be better off with DB first. A bunch of central characters have some important moments during season one of DBZ that won't likely mean anything to you unless you're introduced to & familiarized with them in Dragon Ball first.

There are differences between people who like Dragonball and people who are fanboys.
DBZ/DBS fanboys remind me a lot of Call od Duty fanboys.
CoD fans aren't really gamers, they just play CoD and sports games.
DBZ/DBS fans don't really watch anime, Just DBZ/DBS and maybe Naruto.
I don't count the original DB anime because they don't care about it.
A lot of them have a dudebro mentality, even though most of them are just as unfit as any other nerd.
They often watch sports, playing is optional but they tend to have merch of their favorite sports team.
They tend to be louder and more obnoxious on average than typical weebs.
Thy think Jiren is a good character because he broods, has a tragic backstory and is super buff and strong.

After all, you must be pretty autistic if you look at a nonsensincal statement like "Jiren is shaking the world of void" and, instead of accepting it as a lazy and stupid way to hype up the viewer of the show, start arguing how it actually somehow makes Jiren a multiverse buster of five dimensions and how this necessarily implies that Goku is above five dimensions of reality because he has beaten Jiren.
Seth The Programmer is probably the most guilty for making the power scaling community what it is today.
I can understand liking the first part of Dragon Ball, after all Journey to the West is one of the most fun and adventure filled romps since the Aeneid, but the later parts? Screaming asshole punching screaming asshole.

I still enjoy dragon ball. Hell, I like the games too. But I'm not that hard into it. When I watched the shows, old and new, I didn't try to wrap my head around the plot, this rang even more true when I got older, and then even more when I found out that the creator is a bird brain and makes plot holes because he can't remember shit. I'm fine with the screaming, fighting, energy blasts, I like that shit.

I'd never heard of this SethTheProgrammer guy before this, and after watching one of his videos, I can understand why people in the community don't like him.
This was the first DBZ related thing I saw when I clicked on his channel. And after watching it it just left me thinking, what's the fucking point. Like I understand we're all talking about retards watching an anime about buff guys punching each other here, but this feels like it's going even further beyond just being pointless. It's basically just the anime equivalent of some little kid sperg going "My dad can beat up your dad, he works at Nintendo" and then he proceeds to go into this purely subjective rant about why two characters who have no business being put up against each other would have the outcome he wants. It's worth a watch though, it's stupid and entertaining.
