Ireland had its first live music event since the lockdowns started and this picture from it has been going around.

inb4 "it's a joke about people always being on their phones", I get that but it's still pretty dystopian given the context. There 's another one I couldn't get a good zoomed in screenshot of that said "please wear you mask at all times when not in your pod", referring to these little pens they corralled people into

Someone made this and I found it amusing

Holy fuck even actual cattles are treated with more dignity and respect than this.

Can we change the poll on this thread to something like

Which country(ies) will fare the worst to Lockdowns/Restrictions?

with options like:
-Canada
-Australia
-Ireland
-UK
-Japan
-China
-Singapore
etc.

At this point, the virus is a total meme, but the real question is how long slave countries will suffer under the will of the hypochondriacs and their political masters.

I agree with that, and maybe have a secondary poll for which country will experience an economic depression first.

I bet at this point 7/8's are worse than China's

I’ve said this a million times but it still rings true

Ontario Canada is definitely the worst on the face of the planet, possibly Ireland can compare but that’s about it. Hands down, THE WORST.

That being said how hard is it for a Canadian to become an American citizen?

Becoming a citizen/getting a green card? Unfortunately for us, pretty hard. I think that's what makes the US such a great place, they don't have to deal with the open floodgate of immigrants like Canada has, and are much more selective.

Easiest way is to honestly just marry an American. Barring that, you'll need a dual intent visa. You have the eponymous H-1B (extremely competitive, limited slots per year, must be sponsored by a company that is willing to spend the legal fees to put together a case file for you), the O-1 visa (good luck meeting the "highly qualified" criteria if you aren't a celebrity in some regard), the L-1B visa (must work at a company that is US based that has a Canadian presence for at least a year, and once again you need them to actually be willing to put in all the legal cost and work to file a case for you, which means good luck unless you're a senior, critical employee), and then there are some investor visas that I won't even mention because if you have 2 million USD just lying around, you probably didn't have to worry about any of this in the first place.

Now, if you're OK with just living and working in the US for a 4 year period that can be renewed indefinitely (but can never apply for a green card since it's not dual intent), there's also the TN visa for certain jobs, which for some just requires a bachelors degree. So, realistically speaking, if you wanted to get out and you don't currently qualify for a TN visa, go back to school and get a bachelors in a field that will qualify for a TN visa, then get hired by a US company. Work in the US as a noncitizen/non-greencard holder while applying every year for a H-1B visa once you qualify. With luck, in 10-20 years time you will be granted an H-1B visa, at which time you can start the process for getting a green card. Once you have a green card you can begin the process of applying for American citizenship.

So if you want to become an American citizen and you aren't famous and you aren't going to marry an American (or at least commit green card fraud with an American for an undisclosed sum of money), getting citizenship in America will basically be a lifetime goal for you to reach, think in the timespan of 15-30 years.

For all the American Kiwis reading this, here's a fun comparison. Want to know the path of how to become a Canadian PR (permanent resident)? Go to post-secondary school in Canada (so uni or college) for at least 2 years full time, and Canada will give you a Post Graduate Work Permit for 5 years afterwards. If you do basically any paid work in the field that you studied, Canada will give you your PR. It's insanely lax.

Also, there is a huge industry in Canada of Colleges that only do 2 year programs that are super easy to specifically target the immigrants who just want to get their PGWP, basically diploma mills without even a diploma. And the pricing at these places is equivilent to American community college prices, so like only $15k CAD a year. So, essentially citizenship in Canada only costs 30k Canadian, at the end of the day. And once they get their PR, they are allowed to bring all their aging relatives who literally can't work to Canada to mooch off the healthcare system despite literally never contributing any money to Canadian taxes. Fun.

So, unless you're willing to be an illegal alien in America, and exclusively work Home Depot Mexican tier jobs, there is no easy path to citizenship short of marriage (or at least marriage fraud).

Seeing as how our sentient egg of a health minister recently criticised the public for daring to have an opinion on re-extended lockdowns, we're going to win. Pic very rel.

Well, it's 2 days shy of my 1 year anniversary of joining this site to complain about how shitty the Ontario lockdowns were and the fact that the gyms were still closed. 1 year later, and Ontario is still in a shitty lockdown, and the gyms are still closed, only being allowed to be open from August 2020 to September 2020, so 2 months.

This province is such a shithole, we're still under lockdown, and there is no plan whatsoever to remove mask mandates or open the US-Canada border to "non-essential" travel. And despite the fact I'm in my 20s, in good health, have no secondary complications, and the fact that I've already had COVID, I still occasionally have a family member prod me to get vaccinated. Ultimately at this point, I'm about as worried about the vax side effects as much as I'm worried about COVID (which is to say, not at all). At this point, it's principle. Like, 80% of this province has had at least 1 dose, and 50% has had both. And yet, we will never ditch the mask laws or allow gyms to reopen.

So, I decided I would make a set of principles that I would require to go to the effort of getting vaccinated, and it's worked great at taking the wind out of the hardliners sails when they bug me, because they can't strawman my reasons. So here it is:

1. It must be readily and easily available to take at my local pharmacy without an appointment, and second dosage must follow the CDC and manufacturers dosage guideline timeline
(In this shithole, they've stretched the time between doses out way longer than what Pfizer/Moderna recommend because our dumb country didn't secure enough, and they're doing dumb shit like mixing Pfizer/Moderna/AZ between the two doses)

2. The CDC's advisory on the heart inflammation cases in young adult men must be concluded
(I'm not going to rush to take a vax for a disease that holds 0 risk to me, when the vaccine is being currently investigated for a serious side effect that specifically affects my demographic).

For me to get the vaccine, it must provide a tangible benefit or my daily life must not be impacted at the time I take it. I will allow myself to be bribed, but I will not take something just because I'm being threatened, that's my principle. Give me an actual carrot, because the stick will not work on me.

So, all of the following conditions must be true at the time I take it (including cases where it is only true on the proviso I take the vaccine):

1. Gyms must be open and easily accessible

2. Indoor masks must no longer be required (outside of a limited hospital context at most)

3. The US-Canada border must be open such that someone could reasonably take a day-trip (i.e. not only open, but no giant pile of testing requirements that make it unfeasible or cost-prohibitive)

For me to take the vaccine, I must either do it not under duress or have the personal benefits to being vaccinated be significant and immediate enough to influence my decision.

Personally, I think the bullshit in this country/province is going to stretch out until August 2022. But these are my principles for getting this vaccine. I will not get this shit for some empty promises and threats, because they'll just as likely take the rights away from everyone at once all over again this fall.

So, this is my line in the sand. I will not allow the government or anyone to threaten me into doing something. Use honey instead of vinegar if you really want compliance. Actually go to the effort of setting up a two-tier society where the vaccinated have a normal life, and then getting this vax that's needless for me might seem appealing.

So far, the places I've seen that have life back to normal didn't give a fuck about the vaccines, and the places that put a lot of distinction on the vaccinated/unvaccinated are the places with the most restrictions, even if you're vaccinated. Basically, if they're still scared now, they'll definitely be spooked back into locking down again and again.

So, I'm just one person, I can't unite an apathetic province of 15M into rising up, and any personal efforts would likely just result in my own downfall. So, this is the one form of personal protest that I have. Fuck you, Ontario. Fuck you, Ford. Fuck you, Canada, and fuck you Trudeau. I never asked for these lockdowns, and specifically was vocally opposed to them all the way back in the first week of March 2020 when they started being mentioned. So, now that you ask me to do something? Fuck you, I'll treat your request the same way you continue to treat my rights and freedoms. Throw me the whip first, because only a retard throws the idol and then hopes the person throws the whip instead of just walking away once they've gotten what they wanted.
I'm not getting vaccinated until California starts offering guns in exchange like West Virginia.

I'm open to a little visa fraud, but only if you're bangable. How badly do you want to live in my open mask-free red state?

edit: did I mention we don't have any restrictions on events or festivals either? :D

UK having problems again with Cases and hospitalizations but so far not deaths (Tho we know deaths do lag).
Seems Vaccines are statistically worthless as tons of those dead and hospitalized got Jabbed. I really do not see success anywhere in these stats (That go back to Febuary 1st when no one was jabbed btw..)

But Boris is not giving a shit anymore.

Pretty much taking a "show us the bodies" approach...ill predict if the bodies do not show by October its probably over.

BTW they have not updated this chart since the 21st and annouced they would start doing it every 2 weeks instead of every day. ..Alot of reason to believe the Update coming will be bad for those who jabbed and will be used against getting vaccinated.

This chart is very interesting. So for those under 50, the vaccine prevented a third of death when corrected for case volume. That's pretty useless in the face of all the side effects. One life saved for every two lives cost to the vaccine might even be a generous estimate for this age group.

However, for the cohort of people over 50, two shots seems to have reduced total deaths by a third, which is good until you see how one dose was nearly three times as effective in the same age group and pretty comparable sample size. It could be just an artifact of the oldest of the olds having both shots and the younger olds not, however, since covid death rate is an exponential curve.

The shots making things worse or not helping at all would be funny if it weren't for the fact that I have several friends and family that are vooxers. That, and impotent jabs might become another reason to lockdown.

They did, too. Saw a nice, full color, laminated door hanger on my front knob when I checked mail, helpfully giving me some vax info. brought to me by a local "health equity and social justice" outfit called Jump at the Sun Consultants, LLC. Nice little grift there. Goddamn, the money the state has been spending, what a windfall.

I guess catch is, in order to move to the USA, I would bet that having the vaccines is a hard requirement now, right? I'm not sure, so anyone knowing better is free to correct me, but I can see that being something imposed on anyone wanting to move internationally from hereon out.
