The sad fact of the matter is her audience is charmed by this bouncing ball stuff, and I don't mean in the way we are. Their heroine is active, and getting healthy, and being a comedienne, and happy, and laughing. This is the Chantel they keep saying they want to see. They are even willing to overlook the drugz because this is fun entertainment in a non-ironic way for them. They want this fun Chantal who bounces on balls and isn't afraid to be just fucking fat and rude. That is heroic to them, and it is why some bond so deeply.
The thinking of the members who really do love her, openly wish they were irl friends with her, call her inspirational, and are fat themselves and want to see Chantal win to stick it in the face of skinny bitches and bully shamer trolls like us goes something like this: If she keeps it up, she will be back on track for her becoming the skinny legend, and the drugz will naturally fall by the wayside. She can do this, she's got this, et. al.
The rest of us saw a very ill woman on a mix of low-grade drugs of uncertain nature not only make a fool of herself but come close to seriously injuring herself (I confess that while not rooting for her to come down hard on her ankle and pulverize it to dust, I made peace with the idea that I wouldn't mind if that was what fate held in store)
This kind of antic is weird because it is evidence of further dissipation and dissolution to some viewers, and proof of fun ol' Chantal being more fun than ever among the dingbats, who were so happy to have Mario Karts back.
This is a sad fact because we may be stuck with full-of-herself, hyperconfident, insufferable Chantal more times than not. She's back in good graces, and the addiction saga is forgotten for now... The good news is drugz have a way of breaking up status quo, so stay tuned I guess...
