From what Kaho Shibuya's said in the past, people have tried to create problems for cons that book her before because of her history in AV, so I don't think it's related to Vic being there. It's probably another one of those things. Lol at Marzgurl actually even entertaining the idea that something like that seems plausible at all though.

My theory is they took one look at the case. Saw what a tremendous shit show it was and decided to put off reviewing it as long as possible. That's what I do with fucked up shit I don't wanna do. If it's a pain in the ass, not an emergency, and can wait. It's gonna wait. Or I'll just Chupp it and dispose of it in the laziest, quickest way possible. If I fuck it up bad, someone up the line of command can fix it. Sometimes the best option is to spike the ball right into the upright and take the safety.

As much as that is what I would do, they imposed an accelerated schedule on the procedure parts of getting the case filed. Every single party to the case blew off the schedule and acted like complete dicks. Nevertheless, it was submitted on time, at least with a generous interpretation of the rules.

Remember, an appeals court rarely has to interact with the dumb retards who were smacking each other around in a lower court. They just get a pile of paper, and then, when the giant pile of paper arrives, they get to decide things.

And this case presents a bunch of issues, not just the obvious one where Chupp should get smacked down, but issues where he might or might not have been right, like the SLAPP sanctions.
