The closest UK comparison is Labour’s voter haemorrhage, where the inevitable clash of woke pity groups is already happening. A recent by-election saw them hold a constituency with a big muslim population by less than 900 votes, and that was even though they fielded Jo Cox’s sister on the ‘nasty racist right wing! Boooo!’ ticket. Socially conservative muzzies and comfortably off middle class Hindus are moving over to the Tories. Add pissed off working class whites and there just aren’t enough wokesters to make up the numbers anymore.

Conservatives/Labour aren’t totally analogous with Republicans/Democrats. There certainly are Latinos becoming Republicans, not arguing with that.
One difference in the US is that parties don’t pick their candidates, voters do. In my state, if you want to run for office and are a member of the party, all you need is to get enough signature from people who are members of that party. That’s how Brianna Wu got on the ballot. But this also means you have less of the ‘let’s parachute in some random wokie to this seemingly safe seat’ thing you can have in England. We also have more levels of government; in my area there’s people who voted for Trump and vote for a Republican for state legislature but the Democrat congressman never has any Republican challengers because he’s their guy (working class background, more conservative than most Democrats).

I don’t think we’re at the point where people will leave the Democrats in large numbers over trans issues. If anything Democrats being liberal on racial issues is a bigger turnoff.
