It's nothing more than a new sales pitch that he's trying out. But there's something about Phil that a lot of people here have observed over the years: that he tends to start believing his own bullshit.
Sooner or later, the day is going to come when he's sleepwalking through a kid's game on normal difficulty for two hours, glances over at his chat and sees that they're engaged in a conversation amongst themselves about music or anime or whatever else, looks at his paypal and sees that he's only made three dollars, and he's going to get angry that the "silent majority" that he's convinced is out there hasn't stepped up and given him the positive support he deserves. He'll beg his chat for money and then melt down and scream in rage when they laugh at him. He'll log off and try to take his mind off things by playing WWE Champions, but then run out of money before he succeeds in pulling the card he really wanted. He'll angrily eat the bland frozen dinner his roommate heated up earlier, drink himself into a stupor, and rant on twitter before falling asleep. Then the next day he gets to do this all over again, watching and waiting for the silent majority to heed his call and give him the money he's entitled to for all the hard work he does for them.
It will be a beautiful, beautiful day.
