That’s the entire point of it. Adding extra hurdles makes less people vote. It’s harder to find the time to actually go and hit three different government buildings to verify your address and get your ID, etc. You shouldn’t have to take a full day off of work or more in order to get an ID.

I have state ID, but a few years ago I tried to sign up for some government thing and had to go through a whole nightmare of them telling me that the third-party verification service said I didn't exist. I physically went in with my ID, my passport, my student ID, my birth certificate, and my Social Security card and I still had to just give up after a couple weeks of not being able to set up an account because Experian kept telling them that I was a fake person.
