Forgive me if it’s already been brought up but what perplexes me about Phil’s claim of a “silent majority” of fans is if such a thing does exist, why does he need to beg almost every stream? Why doesn’t that silent majority step up Phil? Why is it always the same 6-7 people carrying the streams either from their main or sock accounts? Where is this silent majority? It’s nonexistent.
He saw the screen caps from The Farms of the chat room participation where there were 8 people in the chat and three of them were mods and one of the other ones were Phil himself. He got embarassed Im guessing and had to rant to vent out a feeling that doesnt involve eating or a gambling high

It's the same way as he probably believes that the trolls ruined his business because it's a mantra he repeats daily to help himself cope with reality

Hi Phil, nice new xbox mate

He has to rationalize having a youtube channel with 190K subs that only gets at best 2K views per video on average and usually around 200 viewers on his streams. That his lifestyle is really in the hands of small cabal of whales and if one of them bails then he might not be able to replace them.

Frankly I don't see why the whales don't band together, they could get Dave to do anything they want.

I KNOW YOU FUCKS READ THIS FORUM, MAKE DAVE DANCE FOR YA, WHALES OF THE WORLD UNITE!

xbahks is gonna revitalize his business and bring in the kahntributions bros, believe in phil!

The problem with breakdowns like this is that it ignores all of the $300 and $500 streams that balance out the slow nights. Even after losing his partnership he's still on a pace to earn well over $100,000 this year. It's logical to expect someone giving Phil $10,000 of that money would wise up eventually, but to get in that position in the first place they're not likely someone who understands logic.
Because it's not about the money made during the streams. It's about the number of people who give him money and the stability of his business. That's the point of the analysis.

Think of it this way. Imagine two scenarios where you have an audience of 100 people giving $1 each while in the other, you have an audience of 1 giving $100. On the surface, you're making the same amount of money, $100. However, if one person leaves, in the first scenario, you still end up with $99 while in the second, you end up with nothing. Thus, the first scenario is a far more stable business environment than in the second.

From what I can tell, though, Phil's business is in the second scenario where he's dependent on a small group of people to provide a large proportion of tips. And this number has been shrinking.

I'm reminded of a line from Casino where they talk about the Japanese whale who played Baccarat at thirty grand a hand but when he couldn't fly out and had to stay an extra night he got the itch to play but played small only a thousand a hand and to him when he wont it wasn't him winning ten thousand it was him losing eighty grand. Same difference with Piggy he doesn't see little tips as winning he sees it as losing out on some wheelchair whale giving him "a nice juicy tip".

It's too bad Monster Hunter World left Gamepass last month. Good thing Phil's brain is too gin'd up for him to have planned around that.
Phil avoided MH:W like the plague; he wouldn’t play it now even if it was “free”. I can’t say I blame him for once, either; people on all sides were fucking autistic for months asking him to play it and it turned into this forced meme because one side thought they’d get salt from him playing a difficult game with emphasized multiplayer and the other side was, you know, Phil’s fans.

Well, since you asked...

god damn it phil you can't even boomer right..

excuse the tism but something was bothering me about this and it wasn't the clout chasing cringe. then it hit me, it's Salute YOUR shorts, in reference to someone stealing your underwear and putting it up a flagpole instead of a flag, IIRC that was the title card of the show. That even fits with what he's trying to say. I'll beat you so bad I'll steal your short...blah blah blah...

what he's saying is someone is going to steal his underwear and put them up a flagpole? So he either didn't know the name of the show or didn't get the reference.

This is one reason I think it's plausible Phil has some money laundering scheme going on. There's no need for Phil to constantly beg when there's always a handful of people not even watching his stream somewhere just waiting to give Phil hundreds of dollars per month. Everything about his boring streams seem like it's hiding something. I may be tinfoil hat here, though.

Time for a bit of Occam’s Razor. What’s more likely?
  1. Phil is laundering money for a third party and despite being terrified by the world at large and people in general, and minority men specifically, of which there are a glut in the American prison system, or
  2. Phil is concealing (poorly) a devastating gambling habit of which if definitive proof was ever found it would make news across the internet due to his infamy and years of crying poor, in addition to anything and everything else he keeps hidden by refusing to show any part of his house besides one small room, and which at one point included a living creature whose existence he denied for months when asked if he had a cat.
Phil is not engaged in criminal activity beyond the fraud we already know exists and which state and federal authorities have decided, for whatever reason, to ignore. He has, in my mind, been spending exorbitantly for years and is desperate to keep any evidence of his lifestyle unseen by the internet. I can assure with almost complete certainty that were someone able to walk through his condo this afternoon while he’s out shopping at the Fred Fuck Meyer they would be shawked at the way this man is living while he approaches his audience hat in hand every single week and begs for their couch change.

I've been toying with that as well but can't seem to make sense of it. You could also make the $5k/mo business expenses he pushed on the bankruptcy court fit in the scheme somehow too. It's going to be the craziest theory yet though. Elaborate, super-villainous.

has there ever been a stream where philbert got absolute 0 kahntributions? no tips cheers bits superchat whatever
No, that's pretty much impossible. And the reason why is that detractors would start creaming their pants seeing it, and their reactions would make the piglets run to Phil's streams and to shower him with money to own da trolls

I think Phil is laundering stolen credit cards into paypal tips (in minecraft). Its pretty easy and cheap to buy a bundle of stolen credit cards off the spooky dark web. Then all you have to do it have people use those credit card to send paypal tips, if they are done in 2-5 dollar increments they may mostly go unspotted. I agree he is too much of a chicken shit and too incompetent to actually do that himself, but I believe he would have no problem ordering his cultists to do it for him and letting them do all the dirty work. Hell, a whale or derich may have originally proposed the idea to him. I really like this theory as it explains a few things:

1) Phils familiarity with the chargeback/refund process on paypal.
2)Why the "refund trolls" seem to come in waves.
3)Why people like derich are allowed to stick around and get his attention despite not providing any pha$ativity to his stream.
