aren't irish travellers a separate ethnic group, completely unrelated to mainland european roma?
both groups get called gypsies by normies so there's some confusion, but if i recall correctly they don't actually have anything in common with each other beyond the nomadic tradition (which both developed independently)

Dude can't even meme properly. A better "gotcha!" would have been to use a penguin as an example. It is a bird that has assumed some of the characterizations of fish, but it's still a bird with fish-like characteristics. It is not and never will be an actual fish. A flightless bird is just a flightless bird. The penguin actually inhabits some characteristics of another animal group.

Yeah but we share the same values, and we use the same flag. I should've elaborated but it's just frustrating to see the flag flying over here in the face of oppression by the government, but in the crusty moldy closet this circus freak came from it's being used for this self serving "I'm a minority and I'm a faggot too!" type bs. Trannies can't just have their seperate facets of identity, they have to combine it all into one mesh and use it to make the fact that they're trans even more special.

There's no gatekeeping because the goal of trans rights activists isn't to aide people with gender dysphoria. It's to encourage as many people to transition* as possible. Like a cult, transpeople feel validated and reassured every time they see someone come out as trans. When you obliterate the gatekeeping and the self-awareness, you trade the lives of mentally ill/autistic loners for the temporary influence manifested by the expanding fad. It's been remarkably effective.

*Identify as trans.

I'm with Pinstripe on this. Romani culture of course has some things that are backwards, but so does every culture. I give Roma a little bit of a pass on it considering the incessant shit they've gone through, lack of unification under a state, and socio-economic status. With regard to Romani people and promoting censorship, you have to realize that Romani people are so decentralized that their dialects are often not mutually intelligible, so unless you are talking about their history or culture, generalizations don't apply well.

To return to the discussion that brought up Roma in the first place, Romani culture is generally unaccepting, and sometimes hostile, towards gender-nonconforming people. They view gays similarly iirc.
