McCain was a serious roadblock to anything Trump wanted, and was probably his biggest outright opponent within the aprty. People point at McConnell sometimes, but don't realize McConnell is content being the supreme ruler of the Republicans in the Senate and doesn't actually oppose Trump beyond ensuring that Trump doesn't send the party careening off a cliff. Do keep in mind there was plenty of reason to be highly skeptical of Trump when he got into office, and hell even by the time he left.

Say hello to a bunch of red votes. Those translators will remember two things: The Democrat president told them to get fucked, and the former Republican President acted to get them to safety.
Georgia has solid evidence -already- Trump actually won it. Arizona is a bit more wishy-washy as the results haven't been revealed and there is still enough haze around the audit itself. Essentially, Georgia is ripe for a news cycle, Arizona isn't, and pushing Georgia now provides counter pressure in Arizona. Win-Win-Win.
