Did they make a big deal about these castings? Were their race advantage in marketing? I wasn't alive back then but with reruns and stuff people mostly talk how wonderfully campy the series is. How they really tried act seriously while what's going on was ridiculous and low budget. How the series both tainted and saved Batman in eyes of the general audience. How Adam West got stuck with reputation that harmed his career until he started go with that reputation and managed to build very successful career making fun of his past. Sure Romero and Kitt get mentioned but just as actors that had those roles. Usually people are kinda confused that Eartha Kitt was Catwoman not because she was black but her big star reputation.
They really painted themselves into a corner thereStupid social justice posturing must continue, brand!

They can either criticize Israel, go back to business as usual, or try to score more woke points to outweigh their Israeli dealings. Why the fuck would an ice cream company have to do that?
That's the woke trap in a nutshell.Perhaps the Tower of Babel
Only way to win is not to play...but you’ve played and played for so long you aren’t allowed to just stop, lol.
The Dresden bombing is also a white supremacist conspiracy theory, and only neonazis call it a war crime, or an atrocity. It even says so on Wikipedia.
To quote Yhatzee in one of his Tomb Raider game reviews, where Souless-AAA-Games-Corporation-7 was trying to pretend Lara Croft was blazing bold new trails as the first female protagonist of an action game -- it wasn't even the first Tomb Raider game in the modern reboot series alone: "You don't get credit for progressing to someplace we were already at."
These people are raised in academia to worship the civil rights struggles, to believe that they'll be the next MLK or what have you. They're also raised before that with the mistaken belief that they are somehow special and winners -- they have all the participation trophies to prove it. So of COURSE they'll be the next great civil rights icon. (Just like if they're in comics they'll be the next Stan Lee, or in vidya they'll be the next Miyomoto, or what have you. Talent? Maybe they have it, maybe not. Effort, Experience, and Wisdom? They don't need that, they're owed success, after all.)
Except we're kinda out of civil rights causes to fight for. But the grift continues unabated, and the best way to do so is to pretend there's still bold new ground to progress towards. And that means memory holing the shit out of any actual progress we've made over the past oh, 75 years or so.
Thank you for saying this! Exactly! Not only is everyone the next MLK, but every “first” is Jackie Robinson. The media fawns over all of this shit. Wow Vogue has an Afro Latinx on the cover for the first time ever…this is a groundbreaking achievement. SNL hired its first Asian WOC co-head writer…we will all remember where we were when that happened.
All this shit does is trivialize the actual firsts that had to deal with real shit. No one cares about the first nonbinary she/they to host the Golden Globes. In fact, these neo-Rosa Parks all get standing ovations and overwhelming support from the system they’re supposedly disrupting.
Because then you'd wind up with kids who don't have any achievements due to being stupid or weak, and that hurts l'il Kaden's feelings, and now Mommy is going to sue the school for being so gosh darn unfair towards her precious.Thank you for saying this! Exactly!
There are too many forced milestones these days. These people are so infaturated with their fake non-achievements that they end up ironically dishonoring genuine cultural milestones because they're not politically correct enough for them.
How's about we go back to praising people who actually achieved something instead of handing out praise like Halloween candy to people who don't deserve it?
Because veterans are incapable of telling the difference between gunfire/IEDs and fireworks! They're all shell-shocked 'Nam vets who'll have flashbacks if you so much as blow a party popper!
Sure I do. “CAN YOU DIG IT, SUCKAAAAAA?” And then of course his threat to Hulk Hogan: "WE COMIN' FOR YOU, NIGGA!"Nobody seems to remember Booker T. or the shit he said.
The tumblr replies are worse. All of them blame Republicans for the VA failures and veteran homelessness, because nothing is ever the fault of your socialized healthcare system or just broken people falling off the grid.Because veterans are incapable of telling the difference between gunfire/IEDs and fireworks! Why did she use that face as a thumbnail, she looks like a stereotypically crazy jew. I guess politics works like an eldritch horror, slowly transforming you into some kind of horrible subhuman existence, while you slowly spiral into madness.looks like a bitch is pissed
What a batch of fucking cowards. They should proudly kill Palestinian vermin.Did they make a big deal about these castings? Were their race advantage in marketing? Not exactly relevant but honestly I never remember that Ertha Kitt's Catwoman was black. I remember that she had that role and that she is black but when I think her Catwoman for some reason in my mind it's just a white woman with a really good tan.
I was thinking of stereotypical wicked witch, but yours works as well. Why did she use that face as a thumbnail, she looks like a stereotypically crazy jew.
