In the indie scene this is what we call a dick move but it isn't unheard of. If someone quits and they want to make a quick buck then they can sell their assets to someone so long as it doesn't violate intellectual property rights. Even if it does, you think these Fiverr artists are gonna sue? It happens not all that often but still more often than you'd think. I see more people talk about how you shouldn't do it than people actually doing it.

Several prominent indies I can name off the top of my head go out of their way to get porn drawn of themselves and actively post it...and then some get pissy when some coomer slides into their DMs. Only Mel actively uses her model on Chaturbate but that doesn't mean other people get porn of their characters done by professionals.

Pippa's take here is fucking insane and it kind of reeks of jealousy. Her whole thing with Coco's departure is wrong even as Coco admits. While we don't know all the details, the biggest reason Coco left seems to be the fact that she suffers heavily from impostor syndrome and realized that she' peaking, and would rather go out on top than fade away as time goes on. Hell, when Senzawa made her comeback as Gura, she was already doing very fucking well for herself and carried that momentum to her new persona. It definitely is a thing in the entertainment industry to know when you're done and to cash out. Did Coco do it prematurely? Possibly but only she knows her limits and if she feels she hit them and wanted out we can only support her decision.
The idea that Pippa wants all the idols to be distinct but views them as samey seems that she doesn't follow hololive at all since even within a given branch, every performer fills a certain role or acts in a certain way but it takes a long ass time for them to get there. Just within EN we have an out of touch boomer who finds herself incredibly funny, a numberfag who is so aware of her own memes that she leans into them to pander and play the role of a psychopath, a bumpkin who radiates so much zoomer energy that it's no wonder she's now the absolute top in the industry, a very relaxing artist who has a sense of humor so terrible it loops back into being funny, and DarkSydePhil if his clowning and toxic behavior was actually endearing.
Also it’s been said here before, but saying Nintendo doesn’t innovate is asinine. They just have dated business practices but are pretty good at breaking the mold hardware-wise.
Even in terms of software they will at least try new things even if they might not work. Its only pokemon where there is a clear lack of innovation.

Most indies are horrifically boring; I should know, I'm one of them. Every once in a while you run into a diamond in the rough but it seems the ones that gain a footing are those who are more "chaotic" which to me looks like "behaving like a spazzy child" since just sitting down and enjoying something while being relaxing and inviting doesn't make you popular. You gotta overexaggerate everything. Without looking at those who did not have a following previously such as Nux, one big name in the indie scene is Papi. I cannot stand watching him for any length of time because he is too energetic on camera and much prefer to spend my time supporting my more low-key friends. One point in Cover's favor is that they actually have a very diverse lineup with that. If everyone were Kiara or Haachama it would be unbearable. If everyone were Ina it would be boring as fuck.
