Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

View attachment 2365021
I don't collect or build legos, but I've seen enough speds complain about set prices online to know that your guestimate of $200 was grossly undervalue. I think knowing the price sheds light on why he had to ask his wife about it, $800 isn't breaking the bank for most people factor in kids, a mortgage, and other expenses though and spending $800 on a pile of plastic becomes even more absurd than it already was.
What the fuck. Legos really cost a lot now. You could buy furniture for a whole room for that much money, or pay a month of rent in a big city.

Hell, to put this in more perspective a round trip ticket to Hawaii is cheaper than this lego set.

A redditor brags about their consumption den. Another redditor gives them the fatherly advice they aren't ready to accept.

Funko Pop/Star Wars is the ultimate consoomer pay pig. When you think you’ve seen it all, a consoomer refits his basement and lines the walls with 10 cent Chinese plastic toys. This collection makes me physically sick to look at.

He had to beg his wife for 2 years to buy something that costs under $200.
actually that specific millenium falcon is a special $700 fucking dollar one IIRC. That's a lot of fucking money for lego but it's a huge fucking model so it kind of evens out. Still is fucking nutso of a price unless you're a wealthy and dedicated hobbyist or consoomer.

EDIT: 800 DOLLARS WAS BEATEN TOT HE PUNCH WITHOUT NOTICING FUCK

This consoomer spends his days shouting into the void, desperately seeking validation. No one cares or notices. He’s one of the endless sea of clones. When he dies none of that plastic trash will be worth more than a dollar. Anyone old enough has seen these trends. It’s a cycle.

It bothers me that they keep the funko's in the box. Kinda proves the fact the tards don't even like them, when they rather want to watch the packaging.
At least collectors of anime figures keep the packaging in a storage space, and display the actual figure.

What's with these "kawaii" aesthetic videos and always featuring the same six or seven Pokémon? It's always Pikachu, the Eeveelutions, or some other cutesy Pokémon from Kanto. If you're gonna consoom at least be diverse. I wanna see a guy go all autistic and have a ton of shelves with merchandise dedicated to all 800+ Pokémon. Now that would be funny.

Box “value” is a whole other part of figure collecting autism in itself, but it’s funnier with Funkos. Every time I see massive walls of boxed ones, I think about how a friend’s had two effectively fall apart once they’re taken out of those boxes. Those boxes might as well be the difference between life and death for a Funko.

I don't know how long your friend had them in the boxes, but the plastic do actually break down. Because it cannot "breathe", haven't read other than the plastic becoming sticky. So it might be an other unrelated problem.

Schrödinger's Funko is a good name though.

This was the most disturbing picture, in my humble opinion. He's a soy wojak come to life. Why does he need his wife's permission to buy a toy? Does this man child not have a job and needs to ask his wifey for allowance money?
He posted a follow-up the next day showing the inside:

And I guess he has a job, or he did a year ago anyway:

Everyone is retarded here.

I’m definitely aware of plastic breaking down with time (plastic “sweating” and getting sticky is a huge issue with older plastic figurines in general), just not “this entire figure will die on your table if you let it breathe” levels of decay. As far as I’m aware said friend got them new, but I have no idea how long they may have been sitting boxed, and regardless I don’t think they’re supposed to fall apart.
